Happy Thanksgiving From Pellston Market
|
|
Many, many thanks!
It may not be surprising to some of you that my
Thanksgiving Greeting is late! I have been thinking of
all of you on Thursday, but sometimes it takes me
awhile to get my thoughts together. I am so grateful
for your support and encouragement, whenever and
however it comes throughout the year. It is what
makes us thrive and continue to stretch and grow.
It is my deep wish for all of you that you are at peace,
somehow if we can attain that state of mind it seems
that we can bear anything. A person at peace in their
heart is a joy to be near, they give me hope. I also
wish that you and your loved ones will enjoy good
health and have the strength to bear to bad stuff that
seems to find us!
I am not always on the floor when you visit the market
and sometimes I am not at your parties when we are
catering. I am always sad that I have just missed
someone, or that I can't be at all of the parties that we
prepare. I just want you to know how very important
you all are to me and to my staff! It has been your
goodwill, you understanding and your word of mouth
that keeps us going everyday. Many, many thanks!

It has been a wonderful year!
It seems like I have been catering without end! The
summer flew past in a blur, but my meories of the
different kitchens, great menus, fresh herbs and
summer berries, heirloom tomatoes, and Marta's
Olive Oil
are all good! Now that it is colder,we are back to our
delicious
butternut squashes, rich blue cheeses, toasted nuts
and apples. We have New Zealand Rack of Lamb
back in the Market and Roquefort by Carles and Torta
Gorgonzola Mascarpone from Italy.
I just went outside and saw it has been snowing all
day and we have a
winter wonderland!
It's beautiful and just in time. Wednesday I was
rescued by our local volunteer fire department and
they put up my winter garland and lights!
Our menu for the Dinner at
the
Market tomorrow night will be perfect for this weather.
Tony received the Manila clams and the wild sea
scallops this morning. We were using our shrimp
and crab shells to make our stock for the Cioppino. I
have to remember to bring in some Pernod tomorrow
morning, it will be a nice addition if its not too late. We
were slowly baking our decadent "Pellston" style
cheesecake this afternoon. Who needs New York, we
have Pellston!
If you have not yet made plans for dinner this Saturday,
11/24, we do have
some space available, just give us a call at 539-7100.
I hope that you can join us, the full menu is on our
website www.pellstonmarket.com As I am creating
this fancy letter without assitance from my web
mistress, I don't have those fancy connections for you
to click on! You will just have to do it the old fashioned
way!

We meet in Palermo, Sicily on April 22 to begin a
