Question: What is your favorite thing about Footlights? Do you have a favorite pointe shoe?
Kristen: My favorite thing about Footlights is the pointe shoes, especially when we get a new shipment of them. It's like Christmas! My favorite shoe is the Suffolk Spotlight. I don't dance in them, but I've tried them on and I love how they feel.

National Museum of Dance

We would like to share with you a contest from the National Museum of Dance in Saratoga Springs, NY.
The museum is accepting pointe shoes with entry forms for their pointe shoe decorating contest until March 1st 2012. Shoes submitted will be included in their upcoming exhibit, "En Pointe", and you will be entered to win $200 in prizes. For more information go to their Website!

Russian Pointe News
A note about Russian Pointe Stock - Russian Pointe has informed us that they will no longer be stocking Vamp-1's in any style of their pointe shoes. This means that once we run out of Vamp-1's in the store we will no longer be ordering them. You may request Vamp-1's, but they will be a special order requiring prepayment and an 8 to 12 week wait period.

Atlantic Dance Show
Recently, Joy and a few of the Footlights staff attended the Atlantic Dance Show held in Hunt Valley, MD. The show included representatives from over 50 of the biggest dance brands. At this show we saw all of the new products available in the dance world. We are bringing many of them into the store just for you, our customers.
There are many exciting new products on the way to our door. The long awaited Suffolk Stellar pointe shoe, lots of new bodywear, new ballroom shoes including the Stephanie shoe pictured, Bloch and Capezio sneakers and so much more are on the way.

Footlights News
We would like to congratulate our fellow Everedy Square/Shab Row merchant, Angelcakes. Angelcakes was voted Frederick's Best Dessert by Frederick Magazines Best of 2012 Poll!! If you have not sampled Angelcakes' delicious cupcakes, we strongly encourage you to do so!
We would like to thank Mark Suffolk and his Suffolk colleagues for their impromptu visit on Saturday, January 28. They helped us fit shoes that day, customized shoes for our dancers feet and generally made some dancers very happy! We hope they can stop in again very soon.
