MD Council for Dance Festival Set for this Weekend in Frederick

 

The 2011 MD Council for Dance Festival is coming up this weekend, the 7th, 8th and 9th of October.  We are very excited to have the Festival here in our hometown this year.  To celebrate we have collaborated with some local businesses to welcome the Festival and it's participants to Frederick. For a detailed list of everything we have planned please click the link below.

We will be giving goodie bags to all dancers as well as their parents.  Dancers will receive some great items from some of the biggest dance wear companies! Parents will receive coupons to local businesses and tourist information about Frederick.  We will have special extended hours on Friday the 7th from 10am-8pm and on Saturday the 8th from 10am-9pm.  There will be FREE ice cream, FREE trolley rides, music by local musicians and more.

This October's Employee Spotlight comes to us from Corinne.  She is a former Footlights girl who we are happy to have back with us again!  For the rest of the interview go to our Blog

Question: How long have you worked at Footlights?  Is there a story:

Corinne: Off and on for 13 years.  I worked at Footlights in high school, moved away for college and graduate school and then came back.  All roads lead back to Footlights!
Inducted into the Frederick County Arts Hall of Fame

Earlier this year Footlights' Owner, Joy Ellis, nominated Thomas F. Waters for the Frederick County Arts Hall of Fame.  We are very excited to announce that Tom has been chosen as a 2011 Arts Hall of Fame Inductee!  The Induction Ceremony will take place on October 19th, 2011.

Tom was an incredible dance instructor who taught in Frederick County for over 50 years. In May 2010 we lost this wonderful man to Early On-Set Alzheimers.  If you would like more information about Tom, or would like to donate to the Thomas F.
