Advanced Vision Center | Featured LACC Member
Hi I am Ingryd Lorenzana, the medical director and owner of Advanced Vision Center. As a Functional Vision Consultant I specialized in the areas of Binocular Vision and Vision Perception.
As a functional vision specialist my private practice is unique to any other eye clinic in two major ways. One, we provide our patients with a GOAL oriented personalized vision consultation to prepare them visually to ACHIEVE their individual everyday GOAL. Two, our primary focus is to determine the level of function of each patient's vision in their school, work or play. My clinical approach to a patient's vision is not just can they detect with 20/20 sight but are they using their vision to their fullest potential for ultimate productivity in academics, work and sports!
The biggest MYTH regarding vision is that because you have 20/20 sight your vision is fine! It is important to detect undiagnosed vision problems, despite having 20/20 sight, because it can interfere with your day to day activities to the level where you can flunk out of school or not be able to keep a job due to lack of productivity. Symptoms of undiagnosed Vision problems can show up as: sleepiness while reading, loss of concentration while reading, having to re-read to understand material read, red-itchy eyes or blurred vision after computer work, words moving on the page while reading, poor attention span, inability to complete written tasks...headaches from flickering lights, poor memory, constantly losing or misplacing things, car sickness, nausea or headaches after 3-D movie viewing and many more.
To take our vision symptom survey visit: www.avconline.org to find out how you can maximize your vision and reach your ultimate potential! Tell us your GOAL we'll prepare you for Achievement..through Vision!

| | Greetings!
The LACC continues to move forward in developing and implementing strategies aimed at enhancing the economic vitality of our member businesses and the business community at large. I am excited to announce that we are moving forward with the proposed creation of a Special Service Area (SSA) in the Logan Square area. This SSA is an economic development tool available to communities and organizations to provide supplemental services in the specified area.
There are over 1,000 of these districts in the nation's cities and Chicago has more than 40 in place. Today people have many choices in where to shop, live, and work. Special districts provide funds and leadership to give districts a competitive edge. While each SSA is unique, they commonly provide public way stewardship such as sidewalk cleaning, landscaping, marketing, and safety services. Some SSA's have a façade enhancement program, transit shuttles, and green initiatives. We will have more to share on this exciting project in the coming weeks.
The LACC's annual Golf Outing is coming up and a save the date announcement is heading your way shortly. Saludos, |
