| 2010 Census Recruiting Effort |

The Northwest Neighborhood Federation (NNF) & the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant & Refugee Rights (ICIRR) are working on a door-to-door campaign to promote census participation in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood. Their goal is to knock on 5500 door by the end of February and they need a lot of volunteers.
Census figures are used to determine hunderds of billions of dollars a year in government funding. Since less than half of the Belmont Cragin households returned their census forms in 2000, the community lost out on many millions of dollars worth of resources that they deserve--based solely on population!
