April 2011
Dear Members & Friends of SFPRG;
As an Intern at the SFPRG Clinic, I believe that the community of professionals to whom we are connected is a major strength of our entire organization. I wonder, can you remember who introduced you to Control Mastery Theory? Did Hal Sampson or Joe Weiss supervise you, or did you take a class from Irwin Gootnik or George Silberschatz? I learned of the theory from the wonderful Carol Drucker several years ago, and here I am writing you this letter. Our community is so special because we all play an important role in ushering in new generations of CMT therapists.
SFPRG's Mission Statement includes the imperative to educate and train therapists in the practice of Control Mastery Therapy. At the Clinic, I receive multiple hours of supervision, didactic trainings, and case conferences each week given by Master Clinicians practicing CMT in our community. As you know from your own years in training, this time is crucial to solidifying one's knowledge and understanding of therapy. Amazingly, the time given by my supervisors and educators is donated; given out of love and respect for the theory and the wish to pay it forward. Many therapists who interned at the Clinic have come back to teach a newer set of interns. However, the rising costs of running the clinic could put the program in jeopardy, like so many other low-fee clinics. Your donation goes directly towards enhancing the education and training program for me and the next generation of Control Mastery therapists.
The SFPRG clinic pays homage to many incredible theoretical ideas that stemmed from its rich community of clinicians. One day my fellow Interns and I will become a part of that community. Your donation of any amount goes towards ensuring the strength and hopeful future of that community. As we leave the Clinic and move into practices of our own, we will join in that imperative of teaching others about Control Mastery Theory. Please help me strengthen our SFPRG community by donating today.
Please consider donating any amount to help us reach our goal of $15,000. by May 31st.
Thank you for your generosity.
