Issue: # 7
July 2008
Greetings!

July 4th is Independence Day. We all know the reason for celebrating the 4th of July;  America's fight for independence from the tyranny of another country.

This month we'd like to talk about our need for independence of another kind. Freedom from the tyranny of negative concepts and beliefs in our own minds that hold  us captive. Whatever ideas or beliefs we hold in our minds become our reality, whether for good or for bad.

Take a few minutes to read this month's article on gaining independence from these negative forces and learn how you can free yourself from them!

Other AHC news for July include an award nomination for Dr. Franklin and the availability of her lectures on DVD.

This month we have a great Red, White, and Blueberry Recipe to try and we continue our Summer Rays of the Dawn- Energy Beam Club Classes so check out the class schedule below!

Gain Independence from
 Negative Concepts and Beliefs

The teaching of Concept-Therapy has always stated that we hold onto beliefs and ideas that are buried deep in our subconscious. They were instilled in us through other people and our environments at an early age. They control our thoughts, actions, and perceptions throughout our lives and we are mostly unaware of them. These beliefs are often of a very negative nature and manifest into negative outward conditions and relationships in our lives.

The good news is that we can become aware of them, learn to change them and change our lives for the better as a result! Concept-Therapy's teaching arms you with the knowledge and tools needed to accomplish this positive change.

Science has stepped up to the plate with research that confirms Concept-Therapy's long held philosophy. In a recent article entitled
"Buried Prejudice" in  Scientific American Mind, researchers address the age-old biases and prejudices we hold as individuals and collectively as social, racial, or national groups.

Brain research shows how these concepts are seated in certain areas of the brain and how outside stimuli will trigger reactions in the cells. Experiments have shown how unconscious associations can be reprogrammed simply by a conscious effort to do so. This scientific evidence aligns perfectly  with what Concept-Therapy has always taught about our unconsciously held concepts.

In a CT class, you might very well be asked, "What do you want?" This is an important first step to positive change. To know what you want is to consciously choose one idea over another. It begins the process of creating new brain cells for that idea that will with time and attention vibrate stronger than the old ones. Simply making a conscious choice for something better will set positive change in motion.

Dr. Franklin is Nominated for Concept-Therapy's "W Award"

We want to congratulate Dr. Franklin on her nomination to receive Concept-Therapy's "W Award " this month at the Concept-Therapy Institute's Convention in San Antonio, Texas!

Neurotransmitter Therapy Helps Restore Balance to Your Nervous System
The human nervous system is one of the most complex systems in nature. It coordinates thousands of processes in the body through the brain using chemical messengers called neurotransmitters. The brain uses these neurotransmitters to tell your heart to beat, your lungs to breathe, and your stomach to digest.

Neurotransmitter imbalances can trigger conditions such as ADHD, anxiety and panic disorders, and PMS. They can affect weight control and hormone balance. Neurotransmitters are also necessary for thought processes, emotions, sleep, and energy.

The nervous system can be disrupted through  factors such as stress, poor diet, toxic chemicals, infections, and genetics. These factors can cause neurotransmitter levels to become unbalanced causing feelings of sadness, anxiousness, disrupted sleep, fatigue, behavioral problems, foggy thinking, and headaches.neuro image

The good news is, neurotransmitter levels can be measured and restored to balance with neurotransmitter therapy. A simple urinary lab test will measure your neurotransmitter levels and
a non-prescription approach can be used to restore balance.

NeuroScience is a world leader in neurotransmitter research and therapy. Absolute Health Chiropractic carries of full line of NeuroScience products and tests.

Red, White, & Blueberry Crisp

 INGREDIENTS

2 cups blueberries
2 cups strawberries, hulled and quartered
1/2 cup uncooked old fashioned oats
4 tsp sugar, divided
4 tsp unpacked brown sugar
2 Tbsp light butter, melted
1/2 cup Coolwhip light

Preheat oven to 375 degrees

In a small bowl, toss blueberries with 2 teaspoons of granulated sugar; set aside. In another small bowl, toss strawberries with remaining 2 teaspoons of granulated sugar; set aside.

In a third bowl, stir together oats, brown sugar and butter. Spread mixture in a single layer on a sheet pan; bake, stirring occasionally, until lightly browned, about 15 minutes.

Spread blueberries and strawberries in an 8x8-inch glass dish, alternating to create stripes. (Or prepare in individual serving bowls.) Sprinkle with oat topping, decorate with whipped topping and serve.

Yields 8 servings

Cooks Tip

You can try substituting natural sweeteners for the sugar to sweeten the fruit. Some great alternatives are stevia, agave nectar, and honey.
