Issue: # 3
Our Pets, Ourselves, and Zone Healing |
March 2008
|
Greetings!
In this issue we're going to talk about our pets. Those canine and feline babies that are full fledged members of our families.
According to the 2007-2008 National Pet Owners Survey, 63% of US households owns a pet. In 2007 we spent 40.8 billion dollars on our pets. A whopping 9.8 billion of that was spent on vet care for our furry babies. We dress them up, feed them gourmet food, give them Christmas presents, and get very concerned when they get sick. Clearly we attach great importance to them.
Dr. Cathy's patients include some four legged family members. You might say, "What? Take my dog to a chiropractor for health care?" Remember, Dr. Franklin is a Zone Healer. Zone Healing works on our dogs and cats the same way it does on us. In fact, they generally respond quicker to a Zone Healing treatment than we do. We're going to talk about why that's so and how it relates to us and our own health.
Some of the conditions that can be successfully treated through Zone Healing are hip displacement, arthritis, nausea, loss of appetite, and hyper anxiety.
Dr. Franklin's credentials also include a B.S. in Animal Science from Florida State University/Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (Cum Laude graduate).
So, if you're a pet lover with furry babies in the home, read on. We have some very interesting things to tell you that you may not be aware of.
We're glad you've joined us. We hope you enjoy this issue about you and your pets.

Mark Your Calendars!
Super Applied Concept Therapy Event
Coming to Atlanta in April!
|
Mark your calendars for
April 19 and 20, 2008!
As part of the McKeown Teaching team, Dr. Franklin will be presenting a new Super Applied Concept-Therapy Event here in Atlanta!
Concept-Therapy
presents in simple, understandable language the WISDOM OF THE AGES.
The
truths regarding the great UNKNOWN POWER and the LAWS OF LIFE are not
the revelation of any one person, nor can they be attributed to any
particular age. They are the result of the hopes, the aspirations, and
the dreams of enlightened souls of all the ages.
Concept-Therapy
presents a modern approach to the wisdom which the enlightened of all
ages must have known. It merely coordinates these truths and makes them
more comprehensible. It explains the underlying PRINCIPLE from which
all philosophies, religions, and the methods of healing spring.
Concept-Therapy is, therefore, the
medium by which one may gain not only HEALTH and PEACE but WISDOM, and
with WISDOM one can live his or her life in harmony with the Divine. Watch your email for an upcoming announcement with time and location details! This Class Will Fill Up Quickly! Call Now To Reserve Your Seat!

Our Pets and Us. Are We Connected?
|
Last December, I received a birthday gift that has played a big part in improving my relationship with my dog. I didn't realize that it needed improving until I read "Be the Pack Leader" by Cesar Millan, The Dog Whisperer.
The book has opened my eyes to the connection that exists between myself and my dog. Cesar talks about how we as humans are losing the instinctual sides of ourselves. He says, "To be instinctual is to be clearheaded, open, and aware of the signals we are getting from other people, animals, and our environment". When we are not instinctual we are unbalanced. What's more, our dogs know it.
Our dogs naturally seek balance. Because they live with us they look to us to be their pack leader, but they will only follow instinctual leaders. If we are unbalanced, our dogs pick up on that unbalanced energy. They display that unbalanced energy in their behavior and in the physical disorders they develop.
The solution to physical and behavioral problems in our dogs lies within ourselves. This is the connection. Our own behavior and physical problems show up in our dogs. They "mirror" us perfectly. Our dogs and cats are increasingly developing dis-eases that are actually human dis-eases. One good example of this is diabetes.
All of us who have experienced healing through Zone Healing Therapy know it's benefits. Our dogs and cats can have the same results. They will respond even quicker to treatment than we do. This is because they don't sabotage their recovery through incorrect mental concepts. Remember, they naturally connect to the energy they are experiencing in the moment.
This is why it's important for us to have an adjustment at the same time our pets get one. Very often, their zones will be the same as ours. When we and our pets leave a Zone Healing session with a Zone Seven, all clear, we have a clean slate to work from together.
So, love yourself and your pet! Come in together for a Zone Healing treatment. Experience first hand the truth of your intimate connection with your furry babies. Kathy Peck

What Pet Owners Say About Zone Healing and Their Pet
|
This is Chauka., my four year old schipperke (mostly). He loves to travel, having been born and raised in a semi -tractor trailer and traveled the country during his formative years.
The trucking days are behind us but he is still always ready for a trip. There's usually one problem these days with leaving home for several days. He quits eating, but always gets his appetite back after getting home again.
This last Christmas, however, he didn't snap back. We visited family for several days out of state. During this time he ate almost nothing. After returning home, he still wouldn't eat. He became very listless and slept a lot. I began to get concerned and took him in to see Dr. Cathy.
Chauka was a Zone 2, which affects the appetite. After a quick adjustment, within a few hours he was sitting at his bowl demanding dinner, which he ate with gusto.
What's interesting here is that I was also a Zone 2. I, too, had lost my appetite and felt listless. What I learned from Dr. Cathy is that Chauka picked up on my energy during the trip. The stresses of visiting family that I experienced affected him in the same way it affected me.
Are our pets tuned into our energy? Absolutely 100% ! Now, I watch carefully for signs that my dog has plugged into my energy levels. Now that I see the connection, I see him mirroring my energy and emotions regulary. It's been an eye opening experience! Kathy Peck

Essential Oils and Your Pets
|
The growing interest in Alternative Health for ourselves and loved ones is spilling over to include the furry babies in our families, our dogs and cats. Some veterinarians are getting into alternative care because of the growing demand.
One method of alternative care you may not be aware of is the use of essential oils on your pet. Essential oils can be used on animals just as they would on humans.
Our pets have fragile senses, so oils can be diluted until tolerance is established.
There are some oils you can keep on hand as an essential oil emergency kit for your pet. Here are a few to consider.
Peace & Calming, Valor, & Lavender for stress, fear, and nervous anxiety. Domestic animals respond very quickly to the smell.
Eucalyptus and Peppermint are great insect repellents. Eucalyptus can also ease sinus problems.
Cinnamon and Peppermint removes ticks.
Purification is useful for external parasites such as fleas, ticks, and mosquitoes.
Lemongrass & Lavender can be used for torn or sprained ligaments/tendons.
Thieves is perfect for minor skin issues and is also used for dental concerns.
Raven & R.C. are ideal for respiratory and urinary tract support.
There are many more. If you have questions about the use of essential oils for your pet, give us a call at 404-257-0188.
*Absolute Health Chiropractic carries a variety of essential oils. This month we're extending our 15% sale on all of our oils. We encourage you to "love" yourself and your pet by choosing some oils that fit you both at a special price.

AHC Patient Appreciation Party Was a Great Success! |
Despite damp gray conditions on Saturday, there was a really nice turnout for the AHC party at the Fire Iron Grill in the Atlanta Marriott Northwest Hotel. Perfectly tasty appetizers were provided including crispy bacon wrapped scallops, fresh seasoned crab stuffed turnovers and an abundant variety of fresh fruits and cheeses for noshing
While greetings, conversations and laughing were in full swing, Dr. Cathy Franklin began announcing raffle tickets #'s and everyone grabbed their tickets for great give-aways including Metagenics and Heel Nutritional supplements and 2 Half hour massage gift certificates at AHC.
We think almost everyone took home a gift and a go odie bag at the end of the event! We would like to Thank all of our guests who came out and give
"Special Thanks" to Brent Boggs from Metagenics and Jenny Schlichte
from Heel Inc. for generously donating effective nutritional supplements for our raffle. Our Appreciation goes out to the staff and banquet managers of the Fire Iron Grill for their professional and attentive support throughout the event.
