On January 19, The Mint Museum hosted an event, generously sponsored by Wells Fargo, to celebrate its historic collaboration with Opera Carolina, welcoming more than 100 guests from the museum's Crown Society and from Opera Carolina's Verdi Society. Invitees enjoyed a sophisticated, Japanese-themed evening, met artist Jun Kaneko, and wandered the museum's beautiful galleries. Be a part of future events like this by joining the Crown Society today! See the photos

To reserve a space, visit mckineticworks.org or call (704) 338-1533
In a unique twist on the idea of a scavenger hunt, visitors will observe dance performances, and then hunt for the works of art that served as inspiration. Kinetic Works dancers will perform two short original pieces based on a work of art in the Mint and a work at the Bechtler. Visitors will start with the performance at the Mint, and conclude at the Bechtler. A wrap-up discussion will reinforce the link between the visual choreography and the art collection. This project is partially funded by an Arts and Audiences grant from the North Carolina Arts Council. Read more
