It's Grandparent's
 Day!

Grandparents Day can be traced back to the first national Grandparents Day in 1978. Marian McQuade of Oak Hill, West Virginia, has been recognized nationally by The United States Senate, in particular Senator Alphonse D'Amato, and President Carter as the founder of National Grandparents Day. McQuade made it her goal to educate the young in the community to the important contributions senior citizens have made, and to the important contributions they are willing to make if asked. She also urged the young to adopt a grandparent, not for one day a year, not for material giving, but for a lifetime of experience and caring just waiting to be shared with others.

It's written in the grandparents rule book that they MUST spoil their grandchildren, and they do a great job at it! So isn't it time we spoil our grandparents a little bit?

Whisk them away for a weekend in Florida, and stay in a clean, comfortable vacation home.

Many of our homes are one story, so no need to worry about grandma or grandpa having to climb any stairs!

Millions of grandparents take on the responsibility of raising two generations, by being the primary caregivers for their grandchildren.
  • 6.1 million grandparents share their homes with their grandchildren younger than 18.
  • 2.5 million grandparents are responsible for one or more of the basic needs of a grandchild who lives with them, such as food, shelter, or clothing. 1.6 million are grandmothers and 896,000 are grandfathers.
  • Of the grandparents who provide a basic need, 1.4 million work, 477,000 earn income below the poverty line, and 730,000 have a disability.
  •
They say genes skip generations.  Maybe that's why grandparents find their grandchildren so likeable
"Grandparents are awesome! Happy Grandparents Day, Nanny and Grand Dad!"
