Blizzard Beach |

The Summit Plummit is one of the world's tallest and fastet water slides! It stands 120 feet tall and 13 stories high, and will be sure to send your heart racing as you slide at speeds of up t 60 miles at hour!
A tip for ladies: Wear a one-piece bathing suit on this attraction or you may arrive at the bottom before the top of your bathing suit does.
The Slush Gusher, although not as intense, is still an adreniline rush! You race over two hills, and on the second one you'll be sure to catch some air! This ride has you speeding and splashing at 50 miles an hour!
A tip for adrenaline junkies - To catch ultimate air on Slush Gusher, raise your crossed-legs just before you reach the second hump and keep straight.
Empty your pockets before you enter this ride! When you get to the bottom, your park map, sunglasses, suncreen, quarters and lucky rabbits foot will be floating in the pool at the bottom.
If you're looking for something a little less intense, the Tobaggon Racers send you head first on a mat down one of 8 slides. To pick up the speed, pick up the front of your mat.
Have a teenager that is "too cool" for the kiddie park, but not yet ready for the big slides? Ski Patrol Training Camp will keep them busy for sure! It has floating iceburgs, 2 tame slides and the water is only 3 feet deep.
The Secrets:
- A 60 minute wait means just that, a 60 minute wait. DO THE POPULAR RIDES FIRST. If you don't, and you wait until the middle or end of your day, you may run out of time. The longest waits are going to be Summit Plummet, Slush Gusher, Downhill Double Dipper and the Chair Lift.
- Grab a seat! Chairs are prime real estate in the water parks, so make that a priority when you enter. There are grassy picnic areas, sandy beach areas, covered shelters (in and out the sand), and chairs near overlook spots and slide exits. The wave pool has plenty of seating, but these can go fast.
- Wear shoes! Blizzard Beach doesn't have a lot of shade, so the ground will be hot. You'll also be climbing a lot of stairs, so flip flops may get in the way.

| Facts and Myths about Sunscreen |
|
There is only ABSOLUTE necessity that you MUST bring with you when you come to Florida. (Besides the kids, and the camera, and the toothpaste) and that is SUNSCREEN.
Fact or Myth?
You don't need sunscreen if you're already dark skinned or have a tan.
WRONG-O!
Even people with deeply pigmented skin, who rarely burn, should use sunscreen. According to the Environmental Protection Agency, 'everybody, regardless of race or ethnicity, is subject to the potential adverse effects of overexposure to the sun. So use sunscreen, no matter your race or ethnic origin, or whether or not you already have a tan, because it is a myth that people with dark skin don't need sunscreen.
There are some sunscreens that are completely water proof. No need to reapply!
Nope!
No sunscreen is truly waterproof. Instead, they can be water resistant and need to be reapplied every few hours or according to the manufacturer's instructions. And no sunscreen really provides all day protection. Even with an SPF of 50+, you should still reapply it every 2 hours, or sooner if you have been in the water or sweating a lot.
Sunscreen with an SPF of 30 provides twice the protection as one that has an SPF of 15
NO WAY!
Sunscreen with an SPF of 15 provides protection against 93% of UVB rays, while one with an SPF of 30 provides 97% protection. Keep in mind that a sunscreen with an SPF of 2 only provides 50% protection, so be sure to use a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 15-30. Many experts question whether using a sunscreen with an SPF above 30 provides much more protection, since you are already blocking 97% of UVB rays.
It's a cloudy day, I don't need sunscreen!
Yeah Right!
Clouds don't block the UV rays that cause sunburn, so you can still get a sunburn when it is cloudy outside. Since UV rays can be reflected off of water, sand, snow, and concrete, you can even get a sunburn in the shade.

| Typhoon Lagoon
|
Ride Central Florida's only uphill water coaster, Crush 'n' Gusher, at Typhoon Lagoon! Water doesn't run uphill, you say? Tell that to the Imagineers!
Typhoon Lagoon has the largest wave pool in the country -- it can generate 6-foot waves every 90 seconds.
You can swim with Sharks!
56 acres of splishy splashy fun! The water is heated
to 75-80 degrees, all year round!
Feeling REALLY brave? Guests who dare to
try the Crush "N" Gusher will ride in 2 person rafts,
and choose between 3 different slides, ranging from
410 to 420 feet! Each slide takes you through twists
and turns, through tunnels, and sometimes even
propels you UPWARD! That's right, a water slide that
takes you UP and DOWN!
Fun Facts:
One slide can fill a regular home pool in a minute
The Crush 'n' Gusher can fill the 2.7 million gallon wave pool in about 3 hours
The water jets put out 1350 gallons a minute
Typhoon Lagoon has a water park just for your little swimmers, called Ketchakiddee Creek, which offers ten different activity areas, including slides, music, waterfalls and squirting animals!
The Secrets:
- Arrive early, so you're one of the first people in the park. It's not unusual for the parks to reach capacity in the summer and close down, so get there early to make sure you can get in~
- If you are going to rent a locker, don't rent one close to the entrance, because that is what everyone else, who DOESN'T read this newsletter, is going to do. Pick a locker that is close to the rides you want to do, and save yourself the hassle of lots of sweaty, wet people all crowded together at the lockers.
- Ready to get into the lazy river? Walk a little bit! There are plenty of entrance points to the lazy river, and the ones closest to the entrance will be crowded. Go towards the back of the park and get in and out with ease.
- Don't bother packing life jackets, they won't let you bring them in. You can rent one for FREE! (You just have to put down a refundable deposit)
- Worried about carrying a lot of stuff in and out of the parks? You can rent towels when you get there! Save room for souvenir cups and extra sunscreen!
- If you can't get there as SOON as it opens, wait until later in the day. The early birds will become exhausted at around 2, and begin filing out of the park.
- On a budget? One thing you don't have to worry about is parking, IT'S FREE!
Call us now, we'll help you find the perfect vacation home, that is only four miles to Typhoon Lagoon! (888) 491-0643
