Upcoming October Programs
Greetings!
Welcome to the October edition of the Group Coaching Nuggets and to all the new subscribers. I hope that you will enjoy my monthly bursts on issues related to group coaching, workshops and retreats.

This month's focus is about getting prepared for your group programs and growth in your business. I hope that you will pull up a chair and relax for a few moments and think about what's possible for your group programs into 2008.

Fall is continuing to be busy and unexpectedly bountiful. As we approach our Canadian thanksgiving this weekend (a little earlier than the US Thanksgiving), I am giving thanks for a lot of wonderful things.

As always, I would welcome your comments and updates on what's happening in your life and work. Please sit back and enjoy this month's newsletter!

A Treasure Trove of Ideas: Venue Selection and a Workshop and Retreat Checklist
This month the newsletter focuses on preparation for your group programs. I first wanted to share with you part of an email I received from Coach Heidi Michaels, CPCC. Heidi completed the Group Coaching Essentials program in mid-August and has already delivered  a number of powerful programs for groups.

Here's what she says about her biggest learning from running her first few group coaching programs:
"My learning:  I understand much better what details to pay attention to, what not to.  Pay attention to having things settled and ready to go, have a map of what you want to accomplish...but let go of getting to the exact destination.  It's like being on a site seeing tour...you are there to see something wonderful...but at the same time, there might be a beautiful bird that just landed, the sky is blue, or it starts to rain...so you take time to notice it and take it all in.  Open the awareness to what turns up."

Great work Heidi! You can find out more about the work Heidi does by visiting her at her company, Now's The Time For You. Click here to visit www.nowsthetime4u.com.

I also wanted to include two resources which you might find useful as you prepare for your own group coaching program, workshop or retreat:

Group Program Preparation Checklist
For many years a lot of my program work involved travelling to other cities or even countries to run group programs. After many interesting mishaps (including one time when the power cord was left at the office thousands of miles away), I developed a pretty comprehensive checklist to help me keep track of all the little details that can sometimes get left behind.
Click on over to the blog to read my post on Group Coaching, Workshop and Retreat Checklist.

What should I look for in a location?
Finding the right venue for your group program can have a profound impact on your participants; experience, as well as create a few nights of sleeplessness. To make your search for the best venue a little easier, and to consider some of the finer details in location selection, please click on over to my blog post on Selecting a Venue for Your Group Program.
