Greetings!
Two days ago I quoted Mark Twain, famed author and humorist (1835-1910), who said, "It will be conceded...that a Christian's first duty is to God. It then follows, as a matter of course, that it is his duty to carry his Christian code of morals to the polls and vote them.... If the Christians of America could be persuaded to vote God and a clean ticket, it would bring about a moral revolution that would be incalculably beneficent. It would save the country." It was reported on CNN and FoxNews late yesterday afternoon that over 100 Evangelical Christian leaders from Gary Bauer, to Tony Perkins, Don Wildmon and others met privately at a ranch outside of Houston, Texas on Friday and Saturday to discuss the possibility of uniting conservative Christians around a single candidate. After hearing from surrogates and advocates of the major candidates, three private ballots were cast with the final ballot giving Santorum 85 votes and Gingrich 29. Battle for Social Conservatives Heats Up Evangelicals, Seeking Unity, Back Santorum On this day of rest, pray for our country, our spiritual and our governmental leaders, and those seeking elective office, that wisdom would prevail, and that the Body of Christ would seek His Face, discern wisdom, and walk in it every day. To those who have not yet made a commitment to be a monthly contributor in support of our "America2012" Project through our online donation page, or by mail, please prayerfully consider doing so. If we are to succeed in mobilizing 3 million more evangelical voters in the Primaries and General Election, we will need many more monthly contributors over the next 9 months. For those who are new to Restore America, all gifts are tax deductible for the 2012 Tax year.
