Greetings!
I first learned about Tim Tebow from his inspired leadership on the field and off as a football player at the University of Florida. He raised the bar, not just as a football player, but as a Christian...especially as a Christian. In his personal life, his witness in practice, and his leadership in every game in which he played, he sold out. He gave it his all, to his team and coaches, his family, his school, and most of all, to his Creator and Savior. He lived out his unabashed love for Christ each day, before God and man.
At first it was just before the students, players, coaches, and fans of Florida football. Then it became the nation as we watched, wondering how long it would last. His inspired leadership and determination to lay it all on the line, in each game and in his witness as a Christian, led from victory to victory and into the hearts of many as he won the Heisman. In the off season he took his teammates to the Philippines to share with young people that Jesus loved them, and gave His life for them; that they could know Him, and find their lives blessed through Him.
When the NFL draft came, those 'in the know' said he didn't have the skills to be an NFL quarterback. What they didn't know, was how to measure the size of an enlarged heart. No, not in the physical sense, but in the power of a heart enlarged by the full assurance of Who dwells therein, and the worship He deserved from us all.
Tim Tebow's confidence, drive, witness, and determination is not of man, but of God. It manifests in a joyous, infectious, and inspirational leadership that elevates all in his presence, and all who watch him live out his faith.
Nancy Colasurdo, in her Article, "What We Can All Learn From Tebow", wrote,

"He is a role model, not because he is a Christian but because he isn't afraid to say he's a Christian. You don't have to share his love of God or his way of expressing it to respect his willingness to be himself. He is a role model, not because he's leading the Broncos in winning but because the spotlight it is bringing to him hasn't changed his devout expression one iota."
Colasurdo went on to say,
"I'm not advocating wearing your belief system on your sleeve if that's not authentically you,
just marveling at what it looks like when someone does. I won't deify Tebow but -- as a former sports writer who loved covering these kinds of stories -- it's heady to watch when an athlete
rides a zone so purely and fervently."
Colasurdo is right. It is 'heady to watch.' But it is more than that. It is a witness to all--including Christians--what God can do with a man or woman, young or old, who lives 'so purely and fervently.'
Trully, the world is watching a true 'salt' and 'light' Christian, and it is a joy to see!
