The Contradiction

Straining at gnats while swallowing camels

September 16, 2011
Greetings!

Yesterday, Bill O'Reilly, on his Fox News program said "No one should ever be the target of violence," referring to the murder of George Tiller, the Kansas abortionist who was notorious for killing innocent human beings about to be born. Minutes later, however, he denounced the decision of a Canadian court absolving a 19 year old young woman for strangling her newborn baby boy and throwing his lifeless body over a fence.

Apparently, O'Reilly along with millions of other Americans, cannnot see the contradiction. Tiller heartlessly dismembered hundreds of innocent children in the womb, a barbaric practice by any measure of a civilized society, yet O'Reilly overlooks those atrocities, and declares the actions of this young woman, and the court, to be both mindless and despicable.

Moral confusion

On the one hand, we decry the inhumanity of one person's actions, and with apparently no comprehension of our illogic, pass over another's whose deeds are worse, but accepted under our convoluted and misguided laws.  What is this? Out of sight out of mind? Or worse? I think it is worse, far worse.

The young woman took the life of her innocent newborn and discarded it just as heartlessly as Tiller took the lives of hundreds, maybe even thousands.  Both got away with murder thanks to judges and elected officials who circumvent and render the laws of God irrelevant, no matter the cost to human life, and an entire society.

 Romans 1:21-22 says...

"They became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools."

Forced conformity

As further evidence of this foolishness, the Obama Administration, after the state of New Hampshire refused to fund Planned Parenthood - the largest provider of abortion in America - arbitrarily decided to interfere in the state's business this week by funding (with our tax dollars) Planned Parenthood to the tune of $1.8 million. As stated in yesterday's Family Research Council Newsletter, "Obama's government has decided that Americans will fund Planned Parenthood whether they like it or not. For this administration, it's abortion at all costs."

The Victims

O'Reilly's irrational disconnect, and actions of the Obama Administration are indicative of a people who have rejected righteousness in favor of the unrestrained and disordered "liberty" that is now plaguing our nation.  We Christians are not without fault in condoning this errant thinking. Millions of us have repeatedly participated in the election of the ungodly by our absence at the polls, or stood on the sidelines in silence over the last sixty years as the ungodly openly disdained the laws of God.

If we fail, again, to show up in the 2012 elections, we, our families, our communities, and our nation, will become the victims of our apathy, ignorance, and indifference.

"America will never be whole as long as the right to life granted by our Creator

 is denied to the unborn."

Ronald W. Reagan, State of the Union address, 1986

The "America2012" Project

Sam Adams AccountableGiven that over 20 million Evangelical Christians who are eligible to Vote, DO NOT VOTE, it is imperative for the future of the nation that we do all we can to  mobilize them to join us at the ballot box in the 2012 elections.

Our Partnership with the premier internet communications firm serving the Body of Christ in America provides the  potential to mobilize and turn out  millions more in the 2012 elections. But it will not happen without the support of our readers.
