A President Who Wants To Change America
To What?

| Greetings!
Two days ago I wrote about the "prayer that changed the world," referring to the powerful impact of Reverend Duche's prayer at the outset of the First Continental Congress in 1774.
 Without that prayer softening the hearts and setting the tone of their deliberations, the Declaration of Independence and U.S. Constitution -rooted in the principles found in the Bible - might never have happened. America, and the freedoms won by America's patriots would not have entered the plain of history or impacted the world as we have, nor would there be Independence Day Celebrations to be enjoyed by all.
Apparently, none of that is relevant to our current President.
On June 28th of this year, Alan Sears, President of Alliance Defense Fund, pointed out Barack Obama's continuing refusal to recognize God's role in America.
Referring to a Presidential message in recent months, Sears wrote that President Obama left out, "endowed by their Creator," preferring instead, "endowed with certain inalienable rights."
 This is not the first time Obama has made the same omission nor was willing to recognize our National Motto. Whereas he has stated there are " many roads to heaven" and that Jesus was " a great teacher," and insisted references to Christ or Christianity be covered or removed from where he would be speaking, he cannot be taken seriously when he states he " follows the Christian tradition."
When this President defies all 'Christian tradition' when it comes to upholding and defending God ordained marriage, respect for the lives of the innocent, and condones homosexual behavior, he cannot be taken seriously when he contends, as he did in his campaign, that he is a ... 'Christian.'
The problem, as Alan Sears points out, is that "our lives, our freedom, and our rights and privileges as free men and women have no real significance or lasting meaning apart from that Creator, from that Endower ... from God." |

Our Father, hallowed by Thy Name. In this our day to worship You and You alone for our blessings as a nation, remind us that it is from Your hand that we receive them, that without Your provision our needs would not be met by the hand of man. Remind us as well that without Your work in our hearts, we would serve ourselves rather than others. We pray this day that tomorrow would mark a return to You in America. May Your people especially be reminded of Your goodness, and rededicate themselves to rebuild our homes, the house of God, and the houses of government, that Your propitious smiles would once again be upon our land. In Christ's Name we pray. Amen |
