"Children, vulnerable and dependent, desperately need security,
and it has ever been a duty and a joy of fatherhood to offer it."

Father's Day
Restoring the blessing
June 19, 2011
|
| Greetings!
It is fitting on a day to honor fathers in America to note why father's, especially mature, Godly fathers, committed to their role as the spiritual leader, provider and protector of their offspring, are important to the well being of the family and ultimately, a society that seeks the blessing of God. Apparently, most Americans agree.
In today's Rasmussen Report, seventy-three percent (73%) of Americans "continue to believe that being a father is the most important role a man can fill in today's world."
Maybe there's hope for America. Politicians, intellectual effetes, educators, gays and lesbians, take note! Best not to mess with mother nature, in this instance, the marriage of one man and one woman, and the primacy of the traditional family.
Family Research Council (FRC) reported Friday, however, that "79% of single-parent homes are headed by the mother, while only 10% are headed by the father."
If 73% of Americans believe "that being a father is the most important role a man can fill in today's world," something is wildly out of balance in America! We are not practicing what we preach. And there's the rub! Our walk doesn't match our talk! To make this even more telling, the FRC article went on to say, "Both sons and daughters suffer without a father. For example, research has shown that fatherlessness increases the risk of "youth incarceration" in males and "early sexual activity and adolescent pregnancy" in females."
According to FRC, a recent study found such children are "more likely ... to struggle with serious, negative outcomes such as delinquency, substance abuse, and depression." The FRC article goes on to point out that, "Dr. Kyle Pruett of Yale Medical School demonstrated in his book Fatherneed that fathers contribute to parenting in ways that mothers do not. Pruett declares, "From deep within their biological and psychological being, children need to connect to fathers ... to live life whole."
Dad, there's no greater sense of fulfillment than putting your family first and raising your children in the nurture and admonition of the LORD. If you are like millions of us who could do better, start now. It is later than you think, more costly than you know, and deeply satisfying to turn it around. |

And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.

About Restore America
Restore America has been calling Christians to awaken to their voting responsibility as citizens for twelve years. Given the increasing threat to the well being of the nation from within and without, it is imperative that millions of Christians who DO NOT VOTE, be mobilized to join their brethren at the ballot box in every election. Working together, and with His help, we CAN Restore America " Under God"!
