Our Enemy
The unsurrendered heart

Where there is no vision, the people perish.
Proverbs 29:18 |
| Greetings!
In 2008 Americans were ready to elect just about anyone who promised to lead, and to bring about much needed change in America. To date, what Americans were hoping for has not materialized. Virtually nothing has changed, except for the worse. Unrestrained government spending and control continues, as does high unemployment and denial of our looming insolvency. Our government continues in gridlock, not just in Washington D.C., but in state governments, as well. Protests, particularly by government workers in Europe, have come to America and are spreading across the nation and around the world. These protests are not without precedent.
When King Solomon's son Rehoboam ascended the throne after the death of Solomon, the elders who had served his father counseled him to heed the request of the people to lighten the heavy load of labor which Solomon had placed upon them. Rehoboam foolishly refused their counsel, arrogantly promising even greater burdens, and punishment if they failed to comply, to which the people said,
"What portion have we in David? Neither have we inheritance in the son of Jesse: to your tents, O Israel: now see to your own house, David. So Israel departed unto their tents." (I Kings 12:3-16)
And thus began the break up of the 12 tribes of Israel into the Northern and Southern Kingdom, and internicine warfare between the 12 tribes that led to their downfall and enslavement.
Americans - like those King Rehoboam should have listened to - continue to wonder if anything will change to avoid national calamity. The temptation, in disappointment and discouragement, is to become cynical, to give up, wash our hands of politics, politicians, and the entire elective process. In disgust, we are tempted to hunker down and 'look after our own house' instead of remaining faithful to the vision of the Founders to be a people "Under" the wisdom, counsel, and blessing of God.
But is that wise? Wisdom says it is not. Leadership is required, and that leadership must have a vision for the country that resonates profoundly with its people. John F. Kennedy said, "Ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country." Ronald Reagan's vision, communicated for several years after he was governor of California, by short radio commentaries, took him to the White House, the restoration of our economy, our military, worldwide respect, and the downfall of the former Soviet Union as a world power.
Consider the 2010 election, the rise of the Tea Party Movement, and the resounding rejection of government business as ususal the people who VOTE sent to Washington and a plethora of state governments. Contrary to what liberal elitists want you to believe, the era of big government 'nanny state' domination is over! More and more Americans are taking an active role in ensuring a better future for their children than is in the minds of the old guard liberals in both the U.S. Senate and the White House.
It is not a time to shrink back from the vision that drove our Founders, those who died in the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, World Wars I and II, the Korean War, Vietnam, and every war since; to secure "the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our Posterity" through the election of wise men who know and understand our foundations, our Constitution, and the purposes of God on the earth through civil government. |

Our Enemy
Our enemy is not radical Islam nor is it runaway government spending or our nation's debt. The enemy is not labor unions, financial institutions or politicians.
The enemy is a lack of vision in our hearts for what America is, and what more it can become, as a blessing from God to the world; a failure of leadership at the highest levels of government, starting with the heart, in the home, in our pulpits, and in our board rooms. We lack leadership because we lack vision and we lack vision because we have embraced a spirit of defeat in our hearts rather than the freeing, lifegiving, and empowering Spirit of God. |
|
Have mercy on us Oh God! Remove not from us Thy Holy Spirit, lest we and our posterity die in poverty and poverty of Spirit. Give us Life again, and Life abundantly, not the life of this world, but the Life that is from You, and You alone. Pour out Your Holy Spirit upon us as we surrender our lives to You. Restore our capacity to walk with You in Spirit and Truth as we lay quietly at night pondering Your Word as we talk with You from the heart. Renew a right heart within us as only You can by Your Holy Spirit. Open our spiritual eyes to see You high and lifted up, as You are, as our Saviour and coming KING. Give us a tender and merciful heart and a warrior spirit that longs for Your Kingdom on earth, manifesting even now in our hearts. In the Name of Jesus, KING of kings and LORD of lords, so be it. |

"The sacred rights of mankind are not to be rummaged for among old parchments, or musty records. They are written, as with a sun beam in the whole volume of human nature, by the hand of divinity itself; and can never be erased or obscured by mortal power."
Alexander Hamilton, 1775

To our Visitors and New Friends
Restore America has been calling Christians to awaken to their citizenship duty and voting responsibility for eleven years. Given the increasing threat to the well being of the nation from within, and without, by the ungodly, it is imperative that we inform, motivate, and mobilize the millions of Christians who do not VOTE, to stand together with us at the ballot box in every election, to elect those who will uphold our Judeo Christian heritage and values in public policy. Please partner with us to fulfill our 'Salt and Light' responsibility until He comes. Working together, and with His help, we CAN Restore America!
