And Resolve . . . in 2011 |
|
"Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus."
Hebrews 12:1,2 |
| Greetings!
If 2009 was a year of dismay and disgust with our elected officials, 2010 was appropriately a year of the people choosing new leadership. For many, 2011 is a year of lingering uncertainty and fear that our lawmakers will continue to fail us. For those without Christ it is a time of troubled minds and hearts, fear of the future, denial, and living as if there were no tomorrow.
For those who know the LORD's presence in their lives, however, it is a year to arise from our long and irresponsible slumber, and our seduction by a secular culture that has deluded us into thinking we can have heaven here on earth by sitting quietly in our comfortable pews.
It is a time to walk humbly with our God; to draw closer to Him in spirit and truth; to seek His Face and turn from the sin that so easily besets us. It is a time to read, reflect, and meditate on His Word, to cease using rapture theology to hide from our duty as citizens of His Kingdom on earth.
It is a time to take personal steps to prepare for the likelihood that no champions will arise in this Congress to steer us away from the economic and moral winter ahead.
It is not time to look for a savior amongst men, but to be champions of the Saviour Who walked amongst us and called us to be warriors in His Kingdom. As in every generation, he awaits our obedience. And when it does not come, He brings judgement.
As citizens of His Kingdom, be warriors for righteousness, for truth, and for the 'eternal rules of order and right' in 2011, for the sake of your families, your children, and their future. |
