Greetings!

Two days ago I quoted Congressman Paul Ryan who said, "the decisions made by the new Congress in the next year and by the American people in the next election will determine whether we embrace bold ideas to restore the American dream, or accept the status quo as our "new normal" and merely try to manage America's decline."

I went on to say, "If we fail in the next 23 months to awaken the Body of Christ to their responsibility at the ballot box, we are, as Paul Ryan stated, simply accepting - faithlessly - the satanically inspired status quo as our "new normal", and marching - by choice - back into the harsh realities of the contemporary 'wilderness' and away from the blessing of God."

The 'new normal'

When Bible believing, born again, Evangelical Christians who could change the direction of the nation at the ballot box, refuse by the millions to do so, they are saying  they have embraced the world's 'new normal,' which is to turn away from the faith in God they so easily profess, accept the 'status quo', and become willing bystanders in the nation's decline! 

Exercising their citizenship responsibility in obedience to their LORD's command to be a preserving and purifying 'light' to the watching world (Matthew 5:13-16), is not important to them.  What a pity!  What a sad witness to the world of our weak and pathetic faith in the God we say is LORD of our lives! The Apostle James rails against this passivity when he says,

Is exercising the right to Vote - a right bought and paid for by the blood of Americans from the time of the American Revolution against the tyranny of tyrants - not a 'good work?'  Have we not seen the power of our Votes to turn a nation? Are we and our pastors so ignorant and apathetic that we would not teach our children and our congregations the responsibility of citizenship?  Apparently not.

Of the 52 million Evangelical, Born Again Christians who are eligible to VOTE in America, 20 million DID NOT VOTE in the November 2008 General Election!  Worse, 30 million DID NOT VOTE in the 2010 Election!  Is this the 'new normal' for Christians in America?

If America is to be restored to the vision, values, and wisdom of the Founders, Christians must take their 'salt and light' citizenship responsibility far more seriously and VOTE in much greater numbers in the 2012 Election!  

A 'bold idea'

It is necessary that we Christians  embrace the 'bold idea' that we should get our citizenship house in order to avoid our own - and the nation's - fiscal, moral, and spiritual bankruptcy. Honoring the One we claim is Emanuel, 'God with us', and all who have sacrificed life and limb to preserve, is a good work, and pleasing to our LORD.

Restore America has been calling Christians to awaken to their citizenship duty and voting responsibility for eleven years.  Given the increasing threat to the well being of the nation from within, and without, by the ungodly, and the salt and light ambassadors we are called to be by our Saviour, our message grows more important each day.
