Reaping What We've Sewn

The President's Eclectic Religion

November 7, 2010

Greetings!

I awakened this morning to the President of the United States "lighting candles at the Diwali alter" in India, a direct and blatant violation of his professed Christian faith.  His actions reveal his unbelievable ignorance of what the Bible teaches about such an act, especially for those who profess faith in Christ, and his misguided, eclectic, one world religion view of Ophrah Winfrey (there are many ways to god) and those deceived by Satan for his purposes.

According to Anne McGinn, the writer of the article. . .

"Diwali is a five day religious holiday for Hindus, Jains and Sikhs alike", marking "the return of Lord Rama from his fourteen-year-long exile and his vanquishing the demon-king Ravana and celebrates the triump of light over darkness."

McGinn said that Saturday evening, "Mr. Obama called it an honor to be the first president to celebrate the festival of lights at the White House last year".  He also said,

"I know that today, families are lighting their Diyas and giving thanks for their blessings and looking ahead to the new year. "So to all of you who are observing this sacred holiday here and around the world, Happy Diwali and a Saal Mubarak."

Obama's non Christian world view

As I said in my last commentary, an illusion was, "A perception of a thing which misrepresents it, or gives it qualities not present in reality."

Historically Americans have chosen Presidents who were either committed Christians or at least understood that our nation was birthed in - and blessed by - our Judeo Christian faith and principles; a faith and practice rooted in historically verifiable fact, not local mythology or the man made religions of the world. But such is not the case with this President, who has made repeated and proud statements about his "muslim faith" and now  lights candles to gods which are not, declaring blessings that are not from God, calling an idolatrous day 'sacred' when it is nothing more than a pagan holiday; and saying 'Happy Diwali and a Saal Mubarak' to appease a pagan culture and make them think he is 'one of them', a child of the world, a broad minded, new era, enlightened 'christian' who knows better than to take the teachings of Jesus seriously.

Contrary to the Christian faith he professes, he communicates exactly the opposite message that should be conveyed.  Instead of affirming our, and supposedly his, faith that Jesus Christ is the only way to God (Jesus Christ said "I am the way, the truth, and the life.  No one comes to the Father but by Me"), Obama's actions say just the opposite.  So who does he really serve?  And that question applies to the God of the Bible and His 'only begotten Son', and we the people of America.

Obama is not a Christian

In fact, he is 'one of them' and not a Christian at all, at least by his own statements, and actions.  We would be wise to recognize his confusion as repeatedly illustrated in the last 22 months and yesterday in India.

Christian, Muslim, or Syncretist?

Barack Obama prefers not to attend or even appear at Christian events in the United States, and would rather demand that any reference to Christianity be removed if he does appear, such as at his Notre Dame Commencement address. But he is quite willing to light candles at a pagan altar and call it 'sacred' rather profane.

He is the most ardent and vociferous supporter of abortion and the homosexual agenda of any president in our history, radically so, no part of which a serious student of the Bible and practicing Christian can justify. His commitment to that agenda is so radical as to be described in religious terms as 'zealous'.  In this, he has deluded himself, and will continue to make every effort to persuade us and the world that he is right.

In summary, his religious views are syncretistic, merging the world's religions, and all religion; pagan, Christian, aboriginal, and weird, into one, which the Bible says will occur in the last days and repeatedly warns against being deceived by.

Reaping what we sow

The principle of sowing and reaping is undeniable. If we sow to the wind, we reap the whirlwind, the modern day tornado with it's fear and hiding before it, and destruction in it's wake.

Forgetting our Christian heritage as a nation and the principles that lead to peace and prosperity is sowing to the wind.  Having done so for the better part of 100 years, the whirlwind, the tornado, is now upon us.  It is clear this President is not led by the Spirit of God but the spirit of this world. Pray for him, for the newly elected leaders in Congress, the state legislatures, and local governments around the nation, that they will see where we are with enlightened eyes, speak truth to themselves, to those around them, and to the American people; and may we heed the wisdom of the Scriptures, and not the foolishness of this world as the defiant thumb their noses at the sky.

Dear God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, hear our prayers for the nation, for our leaders, our prophets and pastors, our neighbors, our families, and our selves.  We have left undone what You called us to do, and now we see more clearly the results of our disobedience and understand why You warned us in the Word, repeatedly down through the ages.  Renew in us a right Spirit, a heart of repentance, a heart of praise, and a heart of obedience.  Open our eyes to the harvest before us and Your call to be strong, full of faith, and not the hopelessness of this weary and destructive world system.  Strengthen our hands, and those of our leaders who know You and Your indwelling power to lead, to guide, to prepare us for battle and to trust You as our KING, and not those who defy You and Your ways.  In Your Son's Saving and Holy Name, Amen.

both now and ever."
