Wishful Thinking And Your Vote
From 2008 High, to 2010 Reaction, to 2012 Rejection
November 1, 2010

There has been a marked increase in the tendency to remain away from the polls on the part of those entitled to vote...Election day in the olden times was generally considered more or less sacred - one to be devoted to the discharge of the obligations of citizenship.
Calvin Coolidge - 1872-1933, 30th President of the United States

Greetings!
The old saying, "Nothing is certain except death and taxes," applies once again to American politics, and what can be expected after this election. The truth is, that even if the Republicans regain control of the House of Representatives, or even the Senate, will they have the political courage and determination to confront and even reverse the damage Obama and the democrats have done in the last two years? Will they have the fortitude to dismantle out of control spending, and entitlements while various constituencies howl? What will they do when the unions complain bitterly, as they are in Europe?
The determinant in all this is the American Voter. If we cast our vote in protest, bite our lip and vote for the party we just threw under the bus two years ago, will we then sigh a deep sigh and consider the Republic saved, or will we be realistic, recognize that both parties are suspect, and hold their feet to the fire?
In 2008 wishful thinking Americans including impressionable and naive collegians and 24% of voting Evangelicals fell for the rhetorical promises of the pied piper ideologue from Chicago who has since proven he was and is a dedicated socialist who could care less what we the ignorant people might think about that. Now we know, and are voting in protest, but when establishment republicans continue their efforts to control their party, and embrace the Tea Party while holding their noses - as they have moral conservatives for decades - can we really expect this party to lock arms and work as a team with focus, political vigor, and determination? |

The Next Battle
The truth is, we cannot. Washington is Washington, and changing fifty to a hundred Representatives and 6-10 Senators will not change the culture that has become addicted to spending more and more of our money ad infinitum unless the Voters ride shotgun to see that what we committed them to do will in fact get done.
Republicans and democrats succumbed long ago to giving the dependent, rebellious, and slackers amongst us what they wanted, to gain their political support, and in so doing, now find themselves in a pickle if the goose that laid the golden egg is unwilling to continue their dependency. The battle to keep on feeding the dependent child well beyond the age of maturity will not cease. In fact, it is just now being engaged, and it will be a battle royale. Shutting off the spigot to the trough of plenty will prove politically difficult and there is no guarantee the republicans have the stomach to do it.
If they don't make a determined effort in spite of an expected veto from this President, they may find themselves under the bus again in 2012 and we the productive people pickled in a socialist state.
Start the battle! Be sure you VOTE tomorrow! Be sure your friends VOTE Too! And then prepare for the war ahead. Refuse to be 'rejected in 2012!'

To our Visitors and New Friends
Restore America has been calling Christians to awaken to their citizenship duty and voting responsibility for eleven years. Given the increasing threat to the nation by the ungodly and the salt and light ambassadors we are called to be by our Saviour, our message is more important than ever. Please help us continue this ministry.

"If the people fail to vote, a government will be developed which is not their government... The whole system of American Government rests on the ballot box. Unless citizens perform their duties there, such a system of government is doomed to failure."
Calvin Coolidge, Thirtieth President of the United States |

A share in the sovereignty of the state, which is exercised by the citizens at large, in voting at elections is one of the most important rights of the subject, and in a republic ought to stand foremost in the estimation of the law.
