Harry Reid Pushes Tuesday Vote on Gays in the Military

Greetings!
In spite of outcries from our military leaders, our men and women serving in the military around the world, and the American people, Senate Majority leader Harry Reid, democrat of Nevada, is determined to foist upon our men and women in uniform the greatest threat to our military readiness and cohesiveness as could be imagined. Why? And for what? Our safety and security as a nation? Nay. Attracting more normal heterosexual young people into the military? Not a chance. Just the opposite will occur. The real reason has nothing to do with military readiness or our safety as a nation. It has everything to do with fulfilling liberal democrat campaign promises to the most intolerant and punishing special interest group in the nation - homosexuals, lesbians, transgenders and bisexuals.
Unwilling to wait until the service wide survey of our men and women in uniform, Reid and fellow democrats with the approval of the Obama Administration, have created a bill deceptively titled "Military Readiness Enhancement Act of 2010" (S. 3065/H.R. 1283) that allows homosexual men and women in the various services to openly pursue homosexual and bisexual relationships and behavior that will create hostility and distrust between gays and heterosexuals who by conscience and conviction believe the behavior to be immoral.
To make it easier to justify voting for this bill, Reid has attached this proposed legislation as an amendment to the Defense Authorization Act (H.R. 2647/S, 1390), a procedure that Senator McCain and other Republicans have roundly and repeatedly stated is inappropriate and without precedent. It is simply a continuation of the same political manipulation seen in every piece of legislation this Administration and the democrat led Congress wish to implement in spite of the wishes of the American people, and it must be stopped now before more damage is done to our peace, tranquility, and security.
CALL YOUR SENATORS TODAY! Urge them to vote against the motion to proceed with the Defense Authorization Act (S. 1390).

Points to make with the aides who answer:
- This amendment will force 'sensitivity training' on all our service men and women, against the will of the vast majority
- It violates the right of conscience our Founders placed in the Bill of Rights
- It will be a major hurdle to military cohesiveness and therefore military readiness
- It will violate the free speech rights of our service men and women
- It will impose religious liberty infringements upon our military chaplains
- It will damage recruitment efforts
- It imposes further sacrifices upon our already sacrificing service personnel to impose a political agenda clearly disapproved by the Voters
- The vote should wait until the military completes its survey of personnel in
November - And finally, this itself is an immoral act, imposing acceptance of behavior that the vast majority of the public considers immoral and unacceptable
- It affirms what is wrong, and makes right, wrong
- If passed, it will create further distrust, even disdain, for our government officials, create further division of the American people, and threaten the safety of all Americans
P.S. A provision in this amendment also provides for funding abortions at our military clinics around the world.
