House Votes To Approve Homosexuals In The Military - Senate Vote Is Today
Chiefs of Army, Navy, Marines, and Air Force strongly object May 28, 2010 |
| Greetings!
Over the outcry of the people* - who are overwhelmingly opposed to changing the existing policy of "Don't ask, don't tell" - and strong opposition by all four heads of each branch of our military, the U.S. House of Representatives, by a vote of 234 to 194 , voted to overturn the 17 year law, proving once again the ruling democrats are ideologically driven and unresponsive to the people they are supposed to represent.
Rep. John Shimkus, R-Ill said, "This is devastating to the war fighters and the combat infantrymen."
The Ranking Member on the House Armed Services Committee called the rush by the White House and Congressional Democrats to repeal the Clinton-era 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' law and policy "an affront to military personnel and their families."
The uniformed officers at the top of the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, & Air Force individually wrote letters to lawmakers on Capitol Hill expressing serious concerns about the impact of changing the law affecting "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" before a comprehensive review is complete."
Foolishly, the democrat leadership ignored the very people this will affect most, determined to fulfill their agenda no matter the counsel and strong opposition of our military leaders and the wishes of the American people.
FRC reports that "the Pentagon's own report on sexual assault in the military for Fiscal Year 2009, and published decisions from military courts of appeals over the last decade and a half - have shown that there is already a significant problem of homosexual misconduct in the military." (My highlights)
The Senate Vote is expected to take place TODAY unless they hear from the people. . . THIS MORNING!
The only way this radical blow to our military morale and readiness can be stopped is by the American people calling their Senators and Congressman to strongly object to their FORCING THIS VOTE NOW INSTEAD OF WAITING AS THE HEADS OF THE ARMY, NAVY, MARINES, AND AIR FORCE ARE REQUESTING.
Please DO NOT WAIT! DO THIS NOW!
As reported by FRC's The Watchman, "The "Military Readiness Enhancement Act of 2010" (S. 3065, H.R. 1283), if passed, will not only repeal the current practice of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," but also the current law that forbids homosexual conduct and replace it with "a policy of nondiscrimination based on sexual orientation" so that men and women may openly engage in homosexual (and bisexual) behavior in the Armed Forces. To add further insult, this legislation is being attached to the Defense Authorization Bill, which funds the military."
*The latest Zogby Poll reveals that 60% of Americans oppose changing the current 'Don't ask, don't tell' policy, it should be evident to all Americans that if both houses of Congress pass this partisan bill, they are ideologically driven from the extreme left and not true representatives of the people. |
| Understanding the impact of passage of this bill
To understand the impact of this bill more clearly, and the foolishness of passage without national debate, military input, and public approval, read this article by FRC's Chuck Donovan. |
| What we do
Restore America has been calling Christians to awaken to their citizenship duty and voting responsibility for eleven years. Given the increasing threat to the nation by the ungodly and the salt and light ambassadors we are called to be by our Savior, our message is more important than ever. Please help us continue that effort. Thank you for your continued financial support. It is greatly needed. God bless you all. David Crowe

"If the people fail to vote, a government will be developed which is not their government... The whole system of American Government rests on the ballot box. Unless citizens perform their duties there, such a system of government is doomed to failure."
Calvin Coolidge, Thirtieth President of the United States |

What we CAN do, and What we SHOULD do
Over the last several decades millions of Christians, out of apathy, ignorance, or indifference chose not to vote in election after election. That fact alone has contributed greatly to the moral, spiritual, and political disintegration of America. That can be changed, as well as the direction of the nation - in this coming election - if our pastors and Christian leaders across America call the people of God to their citizenship responsibility. Please urge them to do so. Don't wait. Do it now.
