As the new Senator from Massachusetts made the rounds in Washington D.C. after his no surprise yet stinging victory in Tuesday's election, the response of the ruling elite in Washington D.C. revealed more in one day about the power of the people through the ballot box, than all the media, special interest groups, political payoffs, closed door politics, the rhetoric of a President, and all the king's men - combined.
In one day, the people of Massachusetts brought more clarity and definition to the 'change' we-the-people wanted and expected from the 2008 election than any election since 1994. It clarified and defined what the American voter wants and does not want and what they expect from their elected officials. It was far more than the proverbial 'shot across the bow.' It was a direct hit on an administration and congress that one reporter described as "tone-deaf one-party democrat rule."

By Thursday, the not yet seated Senator from Massachusetts wielded as much power in D.C. as a Roman General marching into Rome after a seminal victory over a foreign nation. The raw political power of the people of Massachusetts, and indirectly, the people of America -
through the ballot box - was a sobering reminder to all VOTING Americans and elected officials of the wisdom of the Founders and how precious our VOTING rights and Constitution truly are.
In one day, democrat lawmakers went into a panic, "fending for themselves" and their political future. The Speaker of the House went from denial to submission as her democrat colleagues swooned in the political heat. The leader of the Senate quietly acquiesced, and the President was reduced to accepting scraps underneath the cutting board in hopes of getting some semblance of his signature bill passed.
So ends a dismal, partisan, fiscally irresponsible, and nation threatening effort by the so called 'progressive' democrats in Congress and the White House. Thank you Scott Brown and the VOTING citizens of Massachusetts! May we all learn from your example how important our VOTES are, and resolve to fully exercise our citizenship responsibilities in the 2010 elections.
