Oregon Ignorance At Your Daughters Expense
Willamina School Board puts students at risk

On May 19th The Coalition on Abortion/Breast Cancer put out a press release decrying the Willamina, Oregon School Board decision to authorize a nurse practitioner to prescribe a combined hormonal contraceptive to teens with a level of carcinogenicity that increases women's risks for cancers of the breast, cervix, and liver "during the most cancer-susceptible time of their lives."
Karen Malec, President of the Coalition said, "some health officials foolishly tell women to take a carcinogen - the pill - to prevent cancer!"
The decision of the Willamina School Board reflects not only ignorance but more profoundly the desperation of a society that looked the other way during the counter culture/sexual revolution of the sixties and seventies and is now faced with their young having sex promiscuously and at an ever earlier age. The "If it feels good do it" mantra of the sixties has born and bred disaster in our culture with the aid of 'enlightened' secularists who themselves bought the lie and made it 'cool' to pass it on in public policy.
Only a courageous 'counter culture' revolution at the local and state level will stop this madness at the expense of our youth who grow ever more weary and confused with an adult society that refuses to take responsibility and set boundaries while it engages promiscuously themselves. | |
