A 'Ten and Two' Moment
Americans have chosen
November 9,  2008
"If the LORD delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with milk and honey.  Only rebel not ye against the LORD, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defense is departed from them, and the LORD is with us: fear them not."

Numbers 14:8-9 (KJV)
Greetings!

Last Sunday, November 2nd, I wrote:

"Tuesday, November 4th, will be a day of deliverance, either into captivity and lamentation, or into the recognition that our ordered liberties come from God; into the twilight before nightfall, or into the glorious light of day after the threat has passed; into an awakening and revival, or the awareness of great loss and evil to come.

The choice will have been ours.  The hour is late, but not too late, if God's people continue to fast, pray, and ACT!"
A ten and two moment

To many in America who know the Scriptures and remember the history of God's dealings with His people in the Old Testament, November 4th was a "ten and two" moment in the history of America.

When Joshua and Caleb witnessed that God's people could "possess the land" that God had promised them, and "overcome it," and the ten other spies saw only the size of the obstacles, and forgot the power and promise of God, the people believed the ten, not Joshua and Caleb, nor the God who had delivered them out of Egypt. On that day, the future of that generation was sealed. The book of Numbers recounts their return to the desert for forty years until a new generation arose who would trust God, cross the Jordan, and take possession of the promised land.

With the aid of over seven million professing Evangelicals, and millions of professing Catholics, America's voting citizens refused to believe in and trust the power of the living God to be with them against the 'giants' we face at home and abroad.

They chose instead to follow a Pied Piper and his naysaying followers back into the wilderness of the world. They chose to place their trust not in the God of our Fathers, nor the wisdom of the ages, but in the gods of this world, for the promise of a false deliverance.

They chose captivity, instead of the blessing of placing their trust in the only One Who delivers. They forgot who granted their liberties, who gave their lives for their liberties, and what it would take to preserve them. They chose their own messiah, a false prophet of prosperity, who promised them everything they wanted, not through the wisdom, warnings, and Commandments of the eternal God, but through more and more government; a life of security and plenty without responsibility or accountability.

Father in heaven, Creator, and lover of our souls, we have as a people, made a decision that will diminish if not destroy the liberties you won for us, the lives of the yet unborn, the lives of our children, and the well being of the nation. Our only hope is in You.  We have placed more faith in fallen, self seeking, self aggrandizing, Godless, and God defying men who love themselves more than You, and their pocket books more than the people they are called to serve.  Forgive us Father, for we have placed them over us by our apathy, complacency, and belief in them more than You.  Forgive us dearest LORD for saying one thing in private and doing another in public, for the approval of men.  We have been ashamed of You when we should have exalted and honored You. We have loved the comforts, benefits, approval and plaudits of men and the world, and believed the promises of fools.  We have failed to teach our brethren and our youth how to honor and revere both Your Name and the authority of your Word in our homes, workplace, and civil government. We have failed to speak your truth in our homes, to our children, to our neighbors, to our communities, in our work place and in the public square.  We have looked the other way without courage, without resolve, without You. We have failed to look fully into Your face, daily, with brokeness and humility, determined to conform our lives to You.  Have mercy on us LORD. Revive within us a broken and repentant heart. Renew within us a right spirit and a resolve to once again serve You as we ought.  Draw us close to Your heart, Your mind, and Your will, that we might in full obedience, intercede for our brethren and our nation as we ought, in prayer, in word, and in deed, that we might ACT wisely as we seek to honor and exalt Your Name once again.

By Your mercy and grace, may we choose humility, brokenness, and repentance, for the sake of our children, our neighbors, and our nation, to the Glory of God, in Whose Name we pray. Amen.

"The virtue which is necessary to preserve a just administration and render a government stable, is Christian virtue, which consists in the uniform practice of moral and religious duties, in conformity with the laws of both God and man. This virtue must be based on a reverence for the authority of God, which shall counteract and control ambition and selfish views, and subject them to the precepts of divine authority."

Please pray for me, for our Team, and for our finances.  We have expended ourselves, and your gracious financial support in our efforts to honor the LORD in our citizenship.  Our coffers are empty in the world's eyes, but not in His. We trust Him to supply the needed funds to continue this ministry. Thank you all for standing with us.
