Will We Restore America?

Beloved of God, Christopher Columbus labored 7 years in an effort to find someone to underwrite his vision of charting a course to the West Indies. The early Pilgrims to America also had a vision--that of religious freedom. They too risked everything, including their very lives, as they sailed from European ports in wooden ships with canvas sails for the hope of the New World. Our Founding Fathers were nurtured in their youth and prospered under that vision as they sought to be free from the tyranny of an earthly king.It was the vision, faith filled tenacity, sacrifice, and courage of Columbus, the early Pilgrims, our Founding Fathers, and the providential favor of God that gave us The Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, self government, and a nation “Under God.” Now however, without that same faith filled vision, and determination, we have become a nation “under men”, subject to the confusion of those whose self absorbed and hopeless 'vision' no longer includes or honors God, His Word or His “eternal rules of order and right.” Left to this uninspired and ignoble 'vision', America and our Christian heritage will not survive. The ageless truth that when a people lack vision from God, they “perish,” was written to God’s people (Proverbs 29:18), not unbelievers. If America is to survive as a nation with an ennobling purpose, it is we Christians who must rekindle and renew our commitment to the Vision of our Founders. The providential hand of God has been upon America from the time of Columbus’ illumination and inspiration. It will take, as it did with him, the early Pilgrims, and our Founding Fathers, a faith filled determination and willingness to sacrifice by God’s people, to Restore America. Are we so determined? Are we willing to pay the price? It is a decision every Christian man and woman in America must make. Eight days ago, I wrote a Commentary titled "Can America Be Restored?" It most certainly CAN, but the real question is, "Will we!" Will we believe the promises of God, choose to engage in the battle, marshal our VOTES, and demand a return to righteousness by those who wish to represent us in public office? "Is anything too difficult for the LORD?" Genesis 18:14
