Truth, "Immanence," & The November Elections

Beloved of God, When those who are in rebellion to God use civil government to re-engineer our laws to satisfy their darkened hearts and minds, eternal truth is increasingly the victim, discarded from our laws, our schools, the public square, and now, our speech. Eternal truth, however, is essential to the well being of any society, any community, any relationship, and the governance of fallen men. God Dwells in His Creation
Fundamental to the truth—and good civil
government—is that “God dwells in His creation and
is everywhere indivisibly present in all His works.”
Scripture teaches that wherever we are, God is
there. There is no place where He is not. This is the
doctrine of divine “immanence.”
King David, in his guilt and attempt to hide from the presence of God, wrote, “Whither shall I go from thy Spirit? Or whither shall I flee from thy presence?” “If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.” The Apostle Paul wrote, “God is not far from any one of us: for in him we live, and move, and have our being.” If our legislatures, congress, governorships, courts, and school boards are controlled by those who do not know God, or know Him only nominally, how can a Christian nation survive?
Our 'Trouble'
A.W. Tozer in his classic work, The
Pursuit of God,
said, “If God is present at every point in space, if we
cannot go where He is not, cannot even conceive of
a place where He is not, why then has not that
Presence become the one universally celebrated fact
of the world? The patriarch Jacob, “in the
waste howling wilderness,” gave the answer to that
question. He saw a vision of God and cried out in
wonder, “Surely the Lord is in this place; and I
knew it not.” Jacob had never been for one
small division of a moment outside the circle of that
all-pervading Presence. But he knew it not. That
was his trouble, and it is ours. Men do not know
that God is here. What a difference it would make if
they knew.”
His 'Presence'
Indeed, ‘what a difference it would make’
in ‘the waste howling wilderness’ of our elected
and appointed bodies—if a majority recognized that
'all-pervading Presence’, and the power of
His truth to transform lives, communities, and a
nation.
