One of the greatest complaints, and disappointments, of Bible believing Christians in America is the unwillingness of their pastors to speak out on moral issues and call their congregations to responsible citizenship.

William Penn, Founder of Pennsylvania, said, “Governments, like clocks, go from the motion men give them; and as governments are made and moved by men, so by them they are ruined too."

In the six months since the Restoring Northwest America Conference on restoring civil government was announced, several mailings to pastors and churchs with a pre- conference DVD and a cover letter from a handful of prominent pastors were sent to nearly a thousand pastors in the state of Oregon, primarily in the greater Portland area. Postcards and posters were also sent, asking the pastors to attend, as well as announce and promote the Conference amongst their congregants.

To date, less than one percent of those pastors or churches have made any announcements to their congregations, in the bulletin, from the pulpit, or in church newsletters, or even registered themselves for the Conference. 'As governments are made and moved by men, so by them they are ruined too.'

Teddy Roosevelt, twenty sixth President of the United States; soldier, author and Nobel Peace Prize Winner said, “The people who say they have not time to attend to politics, are simply saying they are unfit to live in a free community.”

What could be clearer? Unless we take the time to learn what we can do to protect and preserve our blood bought liberties and institutions, our freedoms will be lost, along with the nation.

Pastor? Will you make an announcement from your pulpit this final Sunday before the Conference? Will you encourage members of your staff, board and congregation to attend? Will you attend?

Christian citizen? Will you call your pastor and ask him if he will announce this Christian Conference from his pulpit and encourage his congregation to attend? Will you attend?
