If you're scared, say you're scared!...We've all heard (and said) that term at some point in a joking way, right? But, for real, let's talk a little about "fear"...Here's two recent examples:

Ex. #1) A dear friend of mine recently had a family member go home to be with the Lord. This meant my friend would have to either drive or fly from Atlanta to New York on a short notice with very little time to hem and haw over a decision. Well, the problem is that she has an extreme fear of flying. Driving was not a very feasible option since gas is almost 4 pesos a gallon! AND the ride is like 15 hours one way. She wavered back and forth on the decision and ultimately ended up not going to the funeral because of her fear of flying. 

Ex. #2) As many of you know, NGR is hosting our Spring 2012 Model call on March 24, 2012 in Atlanta, GA. We are strongly considering having it "American Idol" style whereby an audience of people can view the process of the actual selection process/production as it's happening. We've had a few people email and inform that they want to participate in the model call however they fear "trying out"  in front of an audience of people. I certainly respect their opinion and even posed the situation as our weekly poll question. It is my hope that someone who is really interested in trying out to be on the NGR 2012 Spring Model Team will not allow their fear to take over.

In this newsletter, I would like to reveal and will try to overcome one of my biggest fears simply by sharing it with the world! Ok, so what is it, you ask...."IT" is ....PUBLIC SPEAKING!! #Yikes. When I have to speak in front of a crowd, I go through all sorts of physical and internal emotions. I get lightheaded, my saliva gets thick, my knees gets weak, it's hard to swallow....lol!....I mean I really go through it! I'm not sure why this happens, however, I can say that as NGR is growing and I'm in situations where I HAVE TO address a large group of people, I say a short prayer and "make it do what it do".

My message to YOU this month is....WHATEVER your fear is, admit it, stare it in the face, and conquer it! The biggest thing to remember is that the Lord "does not give us the spirit of fear"!
