As many of us know first hand, transitioning from relaxed to natural hair can be quite an undertaking. It can be stressful physically on our hair and often times on our emotions. At some point during this process some women come to the point where they are ready to CUT IT ALL OFF! This is known as "THE BIG CHOP".Natural Girls Rock and Camille Rose Natural will host THE most fabulous holiday party and shopping extravaganza on November 19, 2011 at the Chocolate Bar in Atlanta, GA. During this event there will be 3 live "big chops" preformed by Tag Concepts Salon.
This month, Natural Girls Rock would like to highlight one of the three big choppers as well as the participating vendors that will be on site at the party. Get your Christmas list ready because there will be some fabulous "finds" the the vendors we have participating in this event!

A Letter From a Soon-to-be Big Chopper...
My name is Keisha Fogle. I currently reside in Columbia, SC but feel as if Atlanta is my home away from home. So it's only fitting to do my BIG CHOP in the "ATL" at a Natural Girls Rock event. I've been transitioning for four months now. My last relaxer was June 29, 2011.
The reason I decided to rock my hair in its natural state was mainly for two reasons:
1) The health and versatility that natural hair brings.
2) I have had every style imaginable and was growing tired of everything chemically relaxed hair had to offer.
I look forward to my journey and can't wait to experience all my natural hair has to offer....See you all soon and Thanks for the support!

Again, I am humbled to be a part of such a movement as this! Another month has gone by and we have continued to expand our global reach. The impact of our local efforts has expanded as well.
This month, we hosted our first photo shoot in Atlanta, Georgia. The purpose of the shoot was to revamp our website to a new and improved look that allows for easier navigation throughout. It also has a lighter "feel" to it and is refreshing all the way around. We received many, many requests to participate in this event. We ultimately chose seven (7) rocking ladies to show real life examples of how to rock an NGR t-shirt in a layered, fashionable way. Check out the new site here.
We also launched our new Affiliate Program this month. We welcome individuals that have websites, blogs, newsletters to become affiliates and get paid to spread the word of the NGR movement. Our affiliate registration can be viewed on our website. Each "affiliate application" will be approved on a case-by-case basis...as we want to maintain the integrity of the NGR movement.
Lastly, we participated in the first ever Natural Hair Expo in Columbia, South Carolina. Those ladies were awesome! They were well prepared for the hungry crowd they brought. If you are in the Columbia area, check them out! The group is Columbia Curly Girls.
The NGR cup runneth over for sure.....Lord, thank you for choosing me to "steer" this movement in the natural realm!
