Session Two
Anna Carrillo continues the thought of "The Big Picture," sharing in an interview how she has felt the need to "grieve" for what might have been for her daughter Maycee, who has a seizure disorder and requires total care. Yet, in the big picture, she realizes that Maycee is, as Anna puts it, "made right by His design."

Lou Carrillo, Anna's husband and Maycee's
dad, shares some concluding thoughts
on the important role that parents
play in bringing out the "person"
in the special child. Lou and Anna have four children.
Session Three

Bev Linder shares how parents are fellow workers with God in nurturing a child's soul (I Cor. 3:6-9). She shares a personal journal entry describing how her son Brad was able to have a joyful spirit because of having his mind on the truth of scripture, even when his physical disability put him in embarrassing and "left out" situations.
Session Four
Tom and Vicki Griffin share from their hearts in an interview on the topic of "Seeing the Potential In Your Child." The Griffins have four children, including Steven who has Down syndrome. The video takes us into the Griffin's classroom where
Steven's face is aglow because of his accomplishments!
Intro to Session Five
Bev Linder shares how "mama's the mirror" (and so is dad!)--that is, how our kids have a mirror that they look into each day to see who they are...it's our face!
Session Five
Karen Leonard shares how she and her husband Jim seek to enjoy their son Steven, who has processing issues, in practical ways. She shares her determination to stop worrying about her son's future and rather to enjoy today with him, realizing that these are precious moments not to be wasted in worry. She wants her son to remember her smile!
Session Six
John and Tammy share in a "table talk" interview how they daily enjoy their son Duncan who is on the autism spectrum. They talk about realizing God's daily opportunity to start fresh and to seek His strength for the challenges of each day. They share how they as a couple "tag team" in giving each other needed breaks and time alone. They live out the truth "the joy of the Lord is my strength" in raising their son. They have learned the value of laughter, which comes from trusting God.
Session Seven

Belinda Letchford from Australia speaks candidly from her home, where she schools her four children, including Daniel, who has auditory and sensory processing delays. Belinda shares how the goal is the same for the child who has more difficult challenges, but the journey of getting to the goal (loving and obeying God) can look much different than for the typical child. She shares "strategies" for helping the child who needs more support in areas of developing character traits such as "deference" (having regard for others), and self-control.
Session Eight
Mike and Bev Linder share the concept of how "discipleship" was taught to their kids who had physical challenges and very difficult life circumstances as a result. For these kids, part of discipleship was learning to "give thanks in all things" (I Thess. 5:18). They also share how teaching their more typical child self-control, which was difficult for him, was part of discipling him so that he could slow down long enough to listen and to learn about God. And how about the young person who has a very severe cognitive challenge? They point to an example of some friends who refused to believe that their daughter with cerebral palsy could not "take in," simply because she had a difficult time giving out.
