Greetings!
During the past 12 months biogas fuelled cogeneration has continued to generate significant opportunities for EPS across Canada.
Our business has been growing in leaps and bounds as a result of the Canadian biogas market, with the first 2G biogas fuelled cogeneration system up and running and several more under construction across the country.
The most recent order we received is for a 2G packaged, 850 kW cogeneration system, that will be installed at the Red Deer Waste Water Treatment Plant in Alberta.
Other recent biogas fuelled CHP projects include:
- Ferme Geranik - a 370 kW biogas CHP project in St. Albert, Ontario
- Fraser Richmond Soil and Fibre - a 1 MW biogas CHP project in Richmond, BC
- Harvest Energy Garden - a 2.8 MW biogas CHP project in London, ON
- ECB Lethbridge - a 2.8 MW biogas CHP project in Lethbridge, AB
- Demers Greenhouses - an 8 MW landfill gas / greenhouse project in Drummondville, QC
- Greenholm Farms - a 250 kW biogas CHP project in Stratford, ON
- Penticton WWTP - a 65 kW biogas CHP project in Penticton, BC

2G Containerized Biogas CHP Systems
All three major biogas CHP projects currently under construction in Richmond, Lethbridge and Red Deer, have selected the 2G cogeneration systems as the equipment of choice.
What makes these CHP systems so unique is the fact that the complete system, including gas conditioning, fuel treatment, compression, and oil management system is supplied as a pre-engineered, fully integrated system.
These systems will be delivered to site, off-loaded and fully assembled, which leaves the customer with only a few interface points to connect to:
- Gas supply connection
- Hot water supply and return connections
- Electrical connections at the generator breaker terminals
The sound enclosure will limit the noise level to 65 dB(A) at 10 m while optional enclosures that reduce the noise level to 55 dB(A) are also available.
By choosing to utilize our fully assembled, pre-engineerd cogeneration systems, our customers will enjoy significant installation and engineering cost savings, while being assured that their cogeneration systems will perform as expected and provide years of trouble free operation at maximum system reliabilities.
