Greetings!
|

Spring has certainly sprung here in Ohio! We have had beautiful sunshine and 70 degree weather - perfect travel conditions for OGT testing! I want to personally thank all of our test site proctors and coordinators and office staff members who have put so much time and effort into organizing testing. It is not easy to do in an online school environment, but our quality staff makes testing week run like clockwork! We truly have the best staff around, but don't just take my word for it. In our last professional development I shared our impressive district survey results. If you missed it, make sure you check them out in the article below. We keep getting better every year.
Also, don't forget to mark your calendars for the spring picnic! Teachers and staff should RSVP as well.
Go Wolves!
Respectfully,
Jim McCord
Superintendent

March Math Madness draws a large crowd
| |
Last Friday, students, parents and teachers gathered at COSI for March Math Madness. More than 75 students and family members were in attendance. Students participated in carnival-style math games and were even treated with a special visit from "Sir Cumference" at the end of the evening! Students that completed 10 or more math activities were entered into a drawing to win a Fort Rapids Indoor Waterpark prize pack. Smaller drawings were announced throughout the evening totaling almost $600 in prizes! A big thank you to Denny Hammond for organizing a great event and to all of the faculty volunteers. In preparation for next year, please send any feedback, comments or suggestions to denny.hammond@vcslearn.org. View a few photos from the event below or click here to see the entire album.

What made you choose VCS versus a traditional school? I chose VCS over a traditional school because I wasn't getting the education or the help when I needed it and was constantly doing homework until 8 p.m.
Any advice you would like to share with your fellow students? I would like to say that if ANYONE is interested in the Civil Air Patrol DO IT!!!!! I strongly recommend it. I've been in it since August, and I've had an awesome time. People are really nice, you will learn a lot of cool stuff and it helps with what you will be facing when you become an adult. If you're interested at all (even the slightest bit) you can contact Mr. Ingersoll (he introduced me to it) or you can log on to www.gocivilairpatrol.com.
