It looks like the dog days of summer have arrived! Whew. I hope you're staying cool and enjoying all that summer has to offer. It's hard to belive that we'll be welcoming students back to school in the next month or so. I'm very excited about the upcoming year! A decade is a big anniversary and milestone for our organization. Think of all the students we've helped and positively influenced over the last 10 years. Here's to the next 10 years of innovation, growth and making a difference in the lives of students.

What has been your favorite thing about VCS?

VCS is very flexible and that was really helpful. I always knew I would be helped if I needed help, but I had the flexibility to do my work when it was convenient for me.

What was your schooling experience before you attended VCS?

I had been to private school and public school which were ok, but I ended up being homeschooled by my mom. It was really nice because I got to work at my own pace but she started homeschooling my sisters too, so she couldn't help me as well. VCS became a better option because I had more personal help with my school.

So how is VCS different than a traditional school?

You can learn without high school drama in the way. I like my time with my friends but I like it separate from my school because I think that when you are doing too much socializing, it can hold you back from really getting what you can out of school. It's also more one-on-one. I think it's easier to be in contact with your teachers and really get the help that you need with VCS than in a traditional classroom setting.

What are your plans for after graduation?

I am going to go to Ohio State Newark for a year and then I'm going to switch to Ohio State main campus. My plan is to major in linguistics and maybe be an interpreter.

How has VCS prepared you for the real world?

I have a whole year of college in already so I could feasibly graduate in three years which is cheaper and more time efficient, which is really awesome.
