Welcome to
First United Methodist Church
of Michigan City
Greetings!
After serving First UMC for over eleven years, our Angie is having to retire because of health concerns. We will miss her leadership, service and person. Eleven years in a position like the one, she has faithful served in, is a rare thing. Most Assistants and Associates only average about 18 months. She has given us 11 years, through ups and downs. She has been the "go to person" for much and I personally have found her help of greatest importance. But, we want her to get well. I am sure the job has contributed to her not-yet-known illness.
This coming Sunday we will be honoring God by celebrating her work at First Church as she will be retiring officially in just a week or so after this Sunday. We would like to extend an invitation to everyone to make a LOVE Offering for Angie this week. Bring it with you Sunday morning or get it to the office. Checks may be made out to her or to the Church for her. We will have a special reception for her and her family will be present between the two services this Sunday. We wanted this to be a surprise, but you know how that goes.
Surprises and secrets don't stay under for very long. But, let's surprise her with our love and adoration as we gift her and say thanks for 11 years of unsurpassed faithfulness and service to her Lord via First UMC.
In HIM who is everything to us,
Pastor Larry
