Welcome to
First United Methodist Church
of Michigan City
Greetings!
By now, we all understand that the Purpose/Mission of First United Methodist Church of Michigan City is to make disciples of Jesus Christ. How well we adopt the purpose of our church to be our own individual purpose determines the quality of our own individual discipleship.
Beware the perils of complacency. Complacency breeds stagnation. Stagnation leads to deterioration. Picture a stagnant pond; is that not an example of deterioration? Even though, the stagnant pond has the resources of fresh air and sunlight, it needs water replenishment and refreshing. Without replenishment and refreshing, it deteriorates and dies. The same applies to churches and members/disciples. Life, times, and conditions change. Both churches and its members/disciples must be replenished and refreshed as things change or they run the risk of deterioration for sure and possibly the risk of dying.
Let's further examine the very important process is self-evaluation, both as individual disciples and as a church. We begin by asking ourselves three very simple questions. As we seek answers to these questions, we must be honest with ourselves and open-minded to where we were wrong. We should seek His Help in enhancing both these qualities through prayer and meditation before we begin. We must re-evaluate many of our past behaviors. The past cannot be changed but we can learn from it. Wherever past behaviors produced undesirable results, if we want better results, these past behaviors must be identified and replaced with better behaviors.
1. What have we done in the past that we should not have done?
2. What have we not done in the past that we should have done?
3. What have we done in the past that we should have done better?
Pursuing answers to these three simple questions with honesty and open-mindedness will identify:
- Strengths that can be improved.
- Weaknesses that can be lessened or eliminated.
- Opportunities that can be benefitted from.
- Threats that need to be countered.
Please give me a phone call or send me an email to share your thoughts on the above. Your feedback is important.
May God Bless You All,
Lance Domke

We have five fillings available this year: peanut butter, maple/pecan, butter crème, coconut and double chocolate (chocolate inside/chocolate outside). The cost is $3.00 per egg.
We hope you will take orders from your friends, co-workers and neighbors. Just take their order, collect their money and put it in an envelope and bring it to the "egg table" on Sunday mornings beginning February 19th. We will continue to sell eggs up through Palm Sunday, April 1st. Order forms are available in the Narthex.
