Lessons
God teaches us with lessons.
Pay attention we must learn!
Sometimes with pain and suffering
His blessings we must earn.
At times we stumble from the path
let go and lose the way,
and quickly when this comes about
the light goes from our day.
God teaches us with lessons.
A gift from high above!
At times the lesson's happy
and our hearts are filled with love.
But when we wander from the flock
secure we feel no more
How quickly we must come and knock,
"please open up the door!"
God teaches us with lessons.
We really must take heed.
What does he try to tell us?
Do we realize our need?
The need for daily guidance.
It's free, it's ours to take.
We thank the Lord for helping
with decisions we must make.
God teaches us with lessons.
May we always lend an ear!
How easy just to go our way,
the lesson we don't hear.
Please keep us on the rock, dear God,
please hear us as we pray
Yes, put your arm around us Lord,
so that we do not stray.
