Children with Jesus
Welcome to First United Methodist Church
of Michigan City

Greetings!

Back a few weeks ago I made reference to the fact that Paul in Romans 14 v 19 said, "Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and mutual edification. Do not destroy the work of God...."  Further, in another message I asked the questions, "So where do we stand today?  Do we trust God to fully meet our needs or do we, as the "tribes" of old, lose sight of his presence in our lives?  Do we trust God enough to accept and embrace the changes He provides in our lives and our church? For, as it says in Romans 11 v 33, "How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways." and in Romans 11 v 36, "For everything comes from him and exists by his power and is intended for his glory."  God put Pastor Tim Prowse here for a reason; to rebuild a dying church!  What will you do in support of God's plan?

Well, we've been in "business" for 13 months!  Thank you to all who have ever placed an order!!

Please tell all your friends and family too about our Scrip Program. We have been a little slow the last few weeks and I know there are many of you who shop every week and put gas in your cars! Please feel free to stop and ask me about the program!  I'm more than happy to tell you all about it!

I had a secret goal of $5,000 for the first year and although we did not quite make my personal scrip goal, we came close!  To date we have added $3,995.90 in PROFIT.  Thank you so very much for your efforts in supporting this very profitable program.

Please prayerfully consider beginning using gift cards from our Scrip program to make all your normal purchases.  We can really, really use YOUR SUPPORT!

School will be starting soon!!

We would like to prepare those children who are less fortunate with the supplies they need. Our outreach goal is to collect school supplies to fill backpacks and give children what they need to enhance their learning experience.  Last year we provided to over 40 children in Michigan City.  There is a donation box in the narthex.  All types of school supplies are needed. Due to budget cuts at schools now more than ever parents are being asked to supply many items.
