Scholarships
Applications are now available in the Narthex for the following scholarships:
Gardner Scholarship: for those in the Medical Field
Mabel Rhoades Scholarship: for those studying Nursing
Jean Kruse Scholarship: for those with Education Majors
Delco Scholarship: for anyone attending college
Church Member Scholarship: for our members who are seeking a college education
Richard Presser Scholarship: This scholarship is open to the community for anyone who may be attending college.
Applications are due by May 2, 2011. Scholarships will be awarded on June 12 at the 8:15 service.
You and your friends may sponsor a scholarship for $100. If you wish your name will be placed on the scholarship.

Candy Needed
Please bring your Easter Candy donation to the basket in the Narthex. We request small wrapped candies that would fit into plastic eggs. These will be used for the children's egg hunt in April. |

Greetings!
There are so many wonderful things happening at 1st UMC!
We are in the process of putting together a new CHURCH DIRECTORY! We know that there are many members who do not get the weekly blurb, so please contact those people you know and let them know that we begin sign-up this Sunday! There is more information below including dates and times. Feel free to contact Tricia if you have any questions at 879-9466.
Also, we are having a Give Back Night at Giorgetti's, this Wednesday, April 13! More information is below and coupons can be found in this weeks bulletin. You can also print them by clicking here! This is such a wonderful opportunity for fellowship between our members. Why not get a group together and go out for dinner! If you'd like to get together with someone you may not know as well as you'd like, feel free to call them up and ask them to join you! No better time than the present to meet someone new!
Keep reading to find out what other things are going on this week and later in the month! Don't forget about the Youth Port-A-Pit fundraiser coming up on this Saturday! Yum Yum! I guess it's a really good thing that Methodists LOVE to eat!

 Port-A-Pit Chicken
The Chicken is READY! Please go to the Jewel parking lot and pick your chicken up before 12 noon on Saturday, April 9.

 Giorgetti's Give Back Night
On April 13 from 11 till 9 please join us at Girogetti's! They have agreed to give back 15% of the nights profits! WOW! Their pizza is awesome! They also offer a full menu and daily specials! Giorgetti's is located on the lake where the old MC Yacht Club was. You can print your coupon by clicking here or pick it up from the bulletin this Sunday. Don't forget to invite all your friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc. Also..there is NO charge to enter the park yet!! See ya there!

Lenten Fair
All the kids are invited on APRIL 17 for the Lenten Fair! We will meet in the Sunday School Room at 9:30 for games, stories and an Easter Egg hunt!

Vision Team
We are in the process of forming a "VISION TEAM" here at 1st UMC!
Our next meeting will be May 10 at 7 p.m. in the church Narthex.
Please talk to everyone at church, current members and past members too! EVERYONE is welcome!

Church Directory
On APRIL 10 we will begin the sign-ups for the church directory! Please come to the table in the Narthex and pick your time!
The dates for the pictures are as follows:
May 13, 14, 16,17, 18, 19, 20 & 21.
Photography times start at 2 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9:30 on Saturday mornings. Please check your calendar and have 2 or 3 times/dates picked out for your pictures! Also, if you'd like to have multi-generation pictures taken please get with ALL members of your family/group and we will make sure to schedule your times accordingly. Again, have a few dates/times ready when you come to the table.
It's been a while since we have done a directory and this one will be a little different than what we have done in the past. Please stop at the table and talk to Tricia for more information.

Chocolate Covered Easter Eggs
We are coming to the conclusion of making the beautiful (and YUMMY) Chocolate Easter Eggs for 2011! Sunday, April 10th is the last day to order eggs for delivery on Palm Sunday, April 17th. We will be filling orders this week but we might have a few eggs left over that can be purchased on Palm Sunday. To make sure you are not left out, please get your orders and payment to the egg table by Sunday!

Japan
As we are all aware, the people of Japan are in need of our prayers and our giving. The United Methodist Committee on Relief is having an emergency relief effort to help this nation. Please bring your special UMCOR offering to church on Sunday. Please write "advance special #302131" in the memo field of your check.

There will be an Easter Buffet on April 24 from 9 till 10:30. A free will donation will be accepted.
