Greetings!
Wow, what a beginning to a bible study we enjoyed. More than 60 of us joined Tim as he began to share with us the meaning of Paul's letter to the Galatians. The letter is quite interesting to say the least and it serves to point out the continuous and ongoing struggles found in today's "modern" church.
As we continue to review Paul's admonishment of the early Galatian church we cannot overlook our struggles as change comes to our church. We grew up singing, "Give me that old time religion, give me that old time religion, give me that old time religion it was good enough for me". However, it is not good enough any longer. Diversions within our lives that take us away from maintaining the sanctity of the "Sabbath" abound and none of us are excluded in that comment. I do remember when my parents, in my early youth, strictly observed the requirements of the Sabbath. No food was prepared, no work was performed, no playing outside was permitted. It was a day set aside in worship and praise, both at church and at home. As a child within that home we did not know any different but as time went on we began to see changes not only within our family but in the families of those around us. Suddenly the days we knew were gone and, though we might have enjoyed clinging to the past practices, society had moved us into a new era.
It is in this new era we must find new ways to approach, encourage, educate and make disciples for Jesus of the peoples living in our world today. To bring new disciples for Christ into this secular world we need to create a clear vision for how we bring others to the understanding of Christ's love for them. How we begin that process is a question our church needs to answer. Christ wants us to become "fishers of men"....and it has never, in the history of mankind, been more important than today. "Do all that you can do" is the charge of John Wesley, so PLEASE, do all that you can do to make this happen. Your thoughts and comments are always welcomed.

Chocolate Covered Easter Eggs
Once again our Easter egg production team will be making delicious chocolate covered Easter eggs. The proceeds will benefit the restoration of our beautiful stained glass windows. We have five fillings available this year: peanut butter, maple/pecan, butter crème, coconut and a new flavor this year of double chocolate (chocolate inside/chocolate outside). The cost is still $2.50 per egg.
We hope you will take orders from your friends, co-workers and neighbors. Just take their order, collect their money and put it in an envelope and bring it to the "egg table" on Sunday mornings beginning February 27. We will continue to sell eggs up through Palm Sunday, April 17. Order forms are available in the Narthex. You may print out an order form by clicking HERE.
