As we begin the new school year, Notre Dame welcomes five new staff members to the ND Family:
- Ms. Danielle Attard has joined the Guidance Office;
 - Mr. Nicholas Carlino will be teaching Chemistry and Integrated Science;
- Mr. Larry DiPalma, was named director of the new Teaching and Learning Center and is also teaching math;
- Mrs. Christine Sander will be teaching Biology and Integrated Science;
- Mrs. Ellen Visnyei will be teaching English 1 and English 2
We were also very excited to welcome members of the Class of 2016 to the ND family earlier this week. We are thrilled that this freshman class represents an increase in enrollment of 20 percent over last year's freshman class. This group represents over 50 different grammar/middle schools and 30 area cities and towns. We also welcome 18 transfer students to Notre Dame this fall. In early August, we were informed that Mrs. Meg Muldoon, our school nurse for the past three years was moving to another high school in Fairfield. We would like to introduce our two new nurses: Lisa Magrone and Lee Ann Power. Ms. Magrone will be in the building on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and Ms. Power on Wednesday and Friday. We were notified this week that Dr. Edward Bourque was officially retiring, ending a 63 year career in education. We wish Dr. Bourque the best in retirement. We also thank Dr. Mary Callaghan for stepping in to teach Latin 2 this school year.

Fr. Cipriani and Mr. St.Onge are excited to begin the 2012-2013 school year, and they welcome the ND community back from summer vacation!
The first school Mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 7, and student participants are needed. If your student would like to lector, bring up the gifts, or play an instrument or sing during Mass, please direct them to contact Mr. St.Onge.
The first Campus Ministry meeting of the year will be on Wednesday, September 5 in room 307 at 2:10 pm. Please encourage your student to attend if they are a veteran member, or if they have never been to a meeting and are curious about the club!
Service hours will be due on March 14, 2013. Freshmen must complete 5 hours of community service in addition to participating in Freshmen Field Day, while Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors must complete 15 hour of community service.
