Tre Bethel '13 examines a crime scene reconstruction of projectiles.
|
Students in our Forensics course have been working with ballistic imaging, a technique used to identify and link a fired bullet to a specific gun. Students have been working with ballistic samples prepared from a forensic laboratory. Lucite plates are placed where a crime scene scenario bullet would have landed. The disk shows the direction of impact. Forensic students have been reconstructing the trajectory to determine where the suspect must have been. They then study a collection of ballistic specimens to determine a forensic match.
