ND Students in the News

The Notre Dame Key Club was featured in the Neighbors Section of the Connecticut Post on Monday, December 5.

Forensic Science Update

Forensic Science students continue to enhance their CSI skills.  This week fingerprinting was covered. Students first learned to create their own fingerprint cards. They then learned how to classify and identify fingerprint features on their own set of prints. Techniques were practiced and implemented for lifting and preserving latent fingerprint evidence. Below, Julie Rivera '13 and Tori Kuhn '13 examine fingerprints recovered from a crime scene while Scott Kline '13 looks on as Jake Novak '13 demonstrates the skills acquired in Forensic Science for lifting a fingerprint.

Art Classes and Art Club Help Decorate the School

The art classes and Art Club helped put together some decorations for the Winter Arts Celebrations. They wrapped the staircase and created 3-D snow flakes which are displayed in the cafeteria hallway.

Mass for Our Lady of Guadalupe

The Spanish Honor Society will be having a Mass for Our Lady of Guadalupe on Thursday, December 15 in the chapel at 1:55 pm. The Mass is in both Spanish and English. All are invited.

Key Club Toy Drive

The Key Club is collecting toys for newborns through 12 years old. The toys need to be new and unwrapped.  All toys can be brought to Room 102 by the end of school on Thursday, December 15.  We ask that you be as generous as possible.  If you are unable to bring a toy but are able to donate money or a gift card, they can also be used.  Let us help some children enjoy Christmas.  We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year.

Richard "Duke" LaTorre Memorial Scholarship

In October, Notre Dame lost a long time teacher, colleague and friend, Mr. Richard LaTorre. Richard taught at Notre Dame for 42 years and served as our Business Manager and Math Department Chairperson. To honor Richard's memory and life-long commitment to Notre Dame and Catholic education, a scholarship has been set up in his name. A donor has come forward with an amazing challenge ... all donations received by December 31, 2011 will be matched, dollar for dollar, up to $25,000. Please help us reach our goal of fully maximizing this match and outstanding opportunity. No gift is too small. To make a donation, contact Theresa Marzik  in the Advancement Office.

Stop & Shop's A+ School Rewards Program

ND has the opportunity to earn cash through Stop & Shop's A+ School Rewards Program.  All you have to do is click here or call (877) 275-2758 to register your card.

After you register your card, each shopping trip at Stop & Shop using your Stop & Shop Card earns cash for our school! Each month, the amount of cash awarded will be updated on the Stop & Shop website. You can track the amount of points you earn for our school by checking your grocery receipt and online when you create an account at www.stopandshop.com.

Remember, even if you registered your card last year, you must re-register this year for our school to receive credit. Attending to this simple process makes a huge difference to our school. We need your support. Please be sure to register your card to benefit Notre Dame (using ID #05808).

Also, don't forget to encourage your friends and relatives to do the same. Thanks for supporting Notre Dame!
