Summertime Greetings

Once the 4th of July comes, it seems like the summer kicks into high gear. At Notre Dame, we have been busy preparing for the fall - including scheduling students, hiring new staff members and preparing our welcome for the Class of 2015 and our transfer students. We hope you have had time to enjoy the summer thus far and have also found some time to rest. We look forward to seeing everyone on August 30.

Appalachia 2011
From July 2-July 10, a group of 43 students, teachers, alumni and friends traveled to Pipestem, West Virginia for Notre Dame's twentieth annual Appalachia trip. Special thanks and congratulations to the 32 students who volunteered their time to make this year's trip so successful.

Over 30 alumni helped to make this year's tournament so successful (pictured below). Thank you to our players, raffle donors and sponsors who made this year's event a huge success!

Many thanks to the Golf Tournament Committee and volunteers: Jean Cronan, Paul DeGennaro, John Gelmetti, Nancy Meyer, Dorrine Sopko, Debbie Tietjen, Barbara Ezepchick, Greg DeGennaro, Bill Miko, Jr., John Sullivan, Tony Tozzi, Loren Wells, Paul Marzik, Jim Minei, Marianne Spinelli, Sherrie Zembrzuski, Kevin Philipp, Jeff Stone, and Richard LaTorre.

Save the date for next year's tournament which will be held on Monday, June 25, 2012 at the Redding Country Club.

A Quick Reminder ...
If a student did not receive a report card approximately two weeks ago, it was because one of the following obligations needs to be attended to: a book was not returned, an athletic uniform is outstanding or community service hours were not submitted. Please give this your immediate attention.

Bus Applications

If you have not already done so, and intend to utilize Notre Dame busing in fall, please send in your application immediately. We are currently working on routes. Once completed, it is often extremely difficult - and sometimes impossible - to make adjustments for new riders. Contact Mrs. Barbara Ezepchick with any questions.

Nurse's Summer Hours

Mrs. Meg Muldoon, Notre Dame's nurse, will be available in her office on the following dates: August 5, 16, 17, 22, 24, & 26 from 8:00 - 11:30 a.m. to review physicals and answer any questions from students or parents. If a student is planning to play a fall sport and needs to have a new physical approved by the nurse, please make sure it is submitted and approved before try-outs begin.

Uniform Information

Skirt: Underclassmen - plaid skirt purchased from Blake's;  Seniors - navy or plaid skirt purchased from Blake's. Please note - skirts must be worn to the knee. Medical Requirements from the Nurse

Please remember to submit completed sports physicals only to the school nurse. Physicals are effective for 13 months. Your child may not participate in fall sports without a current, up-to-date physical. The nurse will return any physical forms that is not completed properly and meet state requirements.
Please update the school nurse on any changes regarding your child's health problem, or if your child has no further health problem and you would like his/her name removed from the Health Alert List. This enables the nurse to keep current your child's health care plan and meet needs in the event of an emergency. If the nurse does not receive a response, she will assume that there have been no changes in your child's health. The nurse will continue with the current health plan of your child.
Contact Mrs. Meg Muldoon via email or at 203-372-6521.
