News from the Chaplain
Father Cipriani celebrated Mass at the Malta House in Norwalk on January 5. This is a shelter for pregnant women who are in need of support and assistance. Following Mass, dinner was shared with the residents and the benefactors of the house. Fr. Cip was joined by Mary Boyle '12, Geissy Bitencourt '12 and Dianne Gutierrez '11.

Auditions for Beauty and the Beast
Auditions for Notre Dame's spring musical, Beauty and the Beast, will take place on Tuesday, February 1 from 6:00 - 9:30 pm and Wednesday, February 2 from 2:15 - 5:00 pm. Callbacks will be on Thursday, February 3 from 6:30 - 9:30 pm. Students interested in auditioning should plan on attending one audition date and possibly the callback date as well. Audition requirements and any questions should be directed to Mr. St. Onge or Mrs. Marzik. All students are encouraged to audition. The production of Beauty and the Beast will take place on Friday, May 6 and Saturday, May 7 at Sacred Heart University's Edgerton Center for the Arts.

Golf Tournament Planning Meeting
Notre Dame's annual Bob Shea Memorial Golf Tournament will be held this June, 2011. There will be an important planning meeting held on Wednesday, January 19 at 7:00 pm in the school library to discuss this year's event. If you play golf, have played in a golf tournament, or would just like to get involved, PLEASE JOIN US! We need your help to make this year's event a success! Hockey Game Fundraiser
In 2005, Garrett Mendez '05, a four year varsity hockey and lacrosse player, suffered a stroke that changed his life forever. Since his release from Gaylord Hospital, he and his family have done all that they can to help give back. Please join us on January 19 to watch the Notre Dame varsity hockey team play Hamden High School in a fundraiser for Gaylord Hospital. Proceeds from the 50/50 raffle and a portion of ticket sales will be donated to Gaylord's inpatient therapy gym. Click here to read about Garrett's inspiring story.

Scholarships Available
The Connecticut Council of Outward Bound is offering merit-based scholarships for students ages 15-17. Interested sophomores and juniors can apply for a scholarship to the Outward Bound Youth Leadership Corps for the summer of 2011. For more information, visit www.OutwardBound.org |

ND Alumni Update
Congratulations to Chris Alberto '10, who was named Rookie of the Year for the Western Conn State University baseball team.
Peter Gintoli '10 has been named to the U.S. Deaf Olympic Ice Hockey team. The 2011 Winter Deaf Olympics will be held in High Tatras, Slovakia in February. The U.S. team is sponsored by the American Hearing Impaired Hockey Association, which Peter and the entire Gintoli family have been a part of since 2003. To support the team, the Gintoli family is hosting a fundraising event with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers at their home game on Saturday, February 5 at 7:00 p.m. A portion of the ticket sales and proceeds from the "Chuck a Puck" toss between periods will go towards supporting the U.S. Deaf Olympic Team's "Back to Back" campaign to bring home the gold at the 2011 Winter Deaf Olympics. 40th Class Reunion Held
The Notre Dame Class of 1970 recently held their 40th Class Reunion at Anthony's Ocean View in New Haven. The reunion was attended by 154 alumni and guests. The evening included a raffle to benefit the Kim Wickert Donnelly scholarship fund. $2,050.00 was raised. This scholarship was established in memory of Kim Wickert Donnelly '70, and is awarded each year to a graduating female who best exemplifies Kim Donnelly's quiet leadership, love of family and her creative, gentle spirit, and whose optimistic attitude allows her to enjoy life and the family and friends around. Many thanks to Mary Lou Wade, Patty Connerty, Debbie Palumbo, Phyllis Maher, Donna Quaranta, Laurie Oburchay, Caren Sanella, Michael Barrett, Chris May, Bob Sullivan and Debbie Brackett Uliano for all their hard work in making the Class of 1970's reunion a great success!
