Congratulations to...

Congratulations to Mr. Chris Cipriano and Mrs. Joanna Lohan Cipriano on the birth of their son.  Dylan Christopher Cipriano was born on December 30, 2010. He weighted 7 pounds 10 ounces and was 19.5". Both he and mom are doing very well.

Congratulations to Sean Cronan '14, who has been doing some great volunteer work over the past few weeks. First, to assist the Care Club in their cold-weather-gear collection, he collected 14 jackets, 2 sweatshirts, 1 long sleeve fleece shirt, 6 hats, 3 pairs of gloves, 12 t-shirts, and 13 pairs of socks. Sean also volunteered at St. Mary's Church for 2 straight weekends (over 12 hours) selling Christmas trees. He unloaded and stacked the trees by size in preparation of the sale and also tied the trees on the cars for the families. Lastly, Sean's elderly neighbors' snow blower broke and they were unable to clear their driveway. Sean got up early the day after the blizzard and surprised everyone by voluntarily clearing their driveway, sidewalk and stairs.

ND Loses a Member of the Family

As many know, Notre Dame lost a valuable member of the family when Dr. Rob DeSimone, a chemistry, biology, and integrated science teacher, passed away suddenly. Dr. DeSimone will be tremendously missed. The school community appreciates the support and condolences that so many people in the larger community have extended over the past week. At the request of Dr. DeSimone's family, his wife, Pat and children, Gina '12 and David '14, the Dr. Robert DeSimone Memorial Scholarship Fund has been established.  This scholarship will be a wonderful way to honor and keep the memory of Dr. DeSimone alive at Notre Dame High School.  Donations to this special scholarship fund can be made online or by check.  To those of you who have made a donation already or would like to make a donation to this special scholarship, thank you. What a great way to honor and remember Dr. DeSimone...through the gift of education!

Let's Play Golf

Notre Dame's annual Bob Shea Memorial Golf Tournament will be held this June, 2011.  There will be an important planning meeting held on Wednesday, January 19 at 7:00 pm in the school library to discuss this year's event.  If you play golf, have played in a golf tournament, or would just like to get involved, PLEASE JOIN US!  We need your help to make this year's event a success!  If you have any questions, please contact Theresa Marzik  or Barbara Ezepchick .

Care Club Drive
Thank you to all who have donated hats, gloves, and scarves for the needy.  The Care Club drive will continue until January 14. Please bring donations to the library.
