ND Mourns the Loss of Former Teacher and Coach
The Notre Dame family is saddened to report the death of John Waldeyer. John was a teacher at Notre Dame from 1964-1999. He was the head boys' basketball coach for much of that time. John was a true Renaissance man. During his time at ND, he taught German, Latin, English, typing and computers. He loved to travel and was a gourmet chef. John married Judy Siccardi and they lived a wonderful life. Judy retired as a teacher from Notre Dame three years ago, and she and John traveled between Florida, Vermont and Connecticut. To many, John was a dear friend for many years. Many have enjoyed delicious meals and comraderie at their home. This gentle giant, his stories, his snow "predictions", his laugh and his zest for life will certainly be missed. He will long be remembered as "big" John and Notre Dame will always cherish his memory. Rest in Peace John - at least until we get there to join you.

Congratulations to all the sophomores who dabbled so successfully in such a variety of colorful and textured media including clay, papier-mache, plaster of paris, tempera, feathers, gauze, beading--to name just a few!
