Care Club Drive Continues
The Care Club continues to collect donations for their "Project From the Heart". They are seeking donations of non-perisable items for our armed forces in Iraq and Afghanistan. All donations can be brought to the library. |

Thank you to all of our families who made our annual Walk-a-thon so successful. A full update will be included in next week's ND Update, but we wanted to get a quick thank you out everyone who volunteered their time and/or raised money for the program. |
The Walk-a-thon kicked off Notre Dame's annual Spirit Week. A variety of activities is planned, including the Homecoming Dance, pep rally and spirit dress down days. Spirit Week will conclude with a Halloween Dress-Up Day on Friday the 29th. |

Campus Ministry Update
 On Saturday, October 16, Campus Ministry participated in the Out of the Darkness Walk at Sherwood Island in Westport to benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Special thanks to the Notre Dame Cheerleaders for their leadership and spirit for the event. Walk participants included Paula Bannon '11, Natalie Cafasso '11, Jackie Budlowski '11, Kayleigh Spataj '13, Jennifer Mezzapelle '13, Katie Yellen '13, Jessica Clark '13, Jessica Cannon '14, Desiree Carter '14, Colleen O'Reilly '11, Mary Kate Vicenzi '12, Mary Boyle '12, Megan Pace '12, Alexis Restivo '12, Geissy Bitencourt '12, Rachel Hiatt '12, Michael Martinsky '12, Victoria Kuhn '13, Alyssa Tynan '13, Megan O'Reilly '11, Kaitlyn Nolan, Rachel Dorosh '12, Carrie Lautenslager '13, Danielle DeMonte '11, Olivia Stacey 11, Jerlisa Thomas '13, Billie Foster '13, Chelsea Lipscomb '12, Quanece Williams '12, and Christina Rose '11.On Sunday, October 17, Campus Ministry sponsored an evening of spirituality, fun, and fellowship. Participants met for  afternoon mass at the Notre Dame Chapel and then went to Lake Compounce for their Haunted Graveyard. Participants included Michael Saia '11, Eric Peninpede '11, Rachel Dorosh '12, AJ Galucci '11, Alyssa Tynan '12, Allie Cryan '11, Jillian Gelmetti '14, Medjine Jean-Jacques '12, Mary Kate Vicenzi '12, Margie Kuntz '12, Dave Malvicini '12, Spencer Gerwein '12, Mike Martinsky '12, and RJ Cremin '13. On Tuesday, October 19, students went with Fr. Cipriani and Miss Medoff to Lyman's Orchard in Middlefield, CT to revel in some autumn fun by picking apples and playing frisbee golf. Those in attendance were Megan Pace '12, Geissy Bitencourt '12, Mary Boyle '12, Fred Nevin '11, Meghan Corvington '12, Shannon Williams '14, Katie Yellen '13, Amanda Reay '14, and Josh Hamel '11. |

News from the Chaplain
A Prayer and Communion Service with the football players and coaching staff took place in the ND Chapel before Saturday evening's game.
Last Friday a mass and breakfast were held before school and was attended by 20 students.
On Wednesday, the Sacrament of Reconciliation and/or Spiritual Direction/Counseling was made available in the Chapel...all students were welcomed to take advantage of this great time of prayer and reflection. |

Key Club UNICEF and Turkey Drive
 Key Club has started its annual UNICEF drive. This year all proceeds will be going to Uruguay. Also, the Thanksgiving Turkey Drive will be starting in November. The Key Club is responsible for collecting 300 frozen turkeys for needy area families. If you see a great sale or get a free turkey from work, please keep us in mind. If you would like to donate a frozen turkey please email Ms. Casceillo, casceillo@notredame.org. The drop off date is yet to be determined. |

Teachers Attend Conference
On Tuesday, October 19, Mr. Cipriano, Mrs. Miller and Mr. Sulzycki attended the Connecticut Association of Schools Fall Conference in Rocky Hill. Workshops attended included Capturing Students with Their Own Technology, Teaching 21st Century Skills, Using Technology to Teach Literature, and Engaging Students: Students' Own Voices. |

Homecoming Weekend
Homecoming Weekend will take place Friday, October 22nd through Sunday, October 24th. Activities planned are:
Student Homecoming Dance - Friday, October 22nd. This is a semiformal dance for all students.
Homecoming Adult Social - Saturday, October 23rd - 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. - Sacred Heart University Pitt Center Skybox - $20.00 per person includes beer, wine, soda, and hors d'oeuvres. Reservations are required -- please contact Theresa Marzik by October 20th.
Homecoming Football Game - Saturday, October 23rd - 7:00 pm. Cheer on our Notre Dame Lancers as they play Oxford under the lights at Sacred Heart University. Let's go Lancers!!!
